Miele Solarus Canister Vacuum stopped working

I plugged in my miele canister vacuum and when i pushed on the power the vacuum motor started up and stopped immediatly.  I took it apart and noticed the power switch looked burnt/black where the copper plated meet to make the connection. I purchased a new switch and installed but i get nothing. i started to question if i've connected the wires to the correct prongs. I have searched for seems like hours to find a wiring diagram or schematic to help with no luck....can u assist me three things:  1. the proper connection of new switch, and; 2.  other possible causes for the problem and, lastly; 3.how to get a service manual, diagram and schematics for my miele vacuum.

I am an amateur and novice.
Tracked My Miele problem to a bad connection at the outlet plug.

i think the constant slapping of the plug against the housing during rewind prob disconnected the wires inside the plug? Replaced plug

Miele S251i Plus Bagged Canister VacuumMiele white star canister vacuum - won't turn on,...
Hi,

I have the above canister vac, which after my son tried to vac the stairs, it rolled down the stairs on him, but still worked, after turned off/on. Then after turned off maybe 10-15 mins., stopped working when we tried the switch. My father in law is our fix it guy, but still having a problem with the switch. Is there a wiring guide we could look at?

Thank you!

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You can try to call the factory for the Miele S251i schematics / wiring diagram @ the phone number and website listed below or I put a few pieces of information listed below that might help.
1. The vacuum cleaner switches off automatically
A temperature limiter switches the vacuum cleaner off automatically if it gets too hot. Some models have a warning light (triangle) which comes on to indicate that it has overheated. Allow the appliance to cool down for approx. 30 mins. and remove any blockages to the air path.
2. The "Change dustbag" indicator stays on even when a new bag has been inserted
To ensure the dustbag change indicator gives a correct reading, lift the floor nozzle or power head off the floor slightly to prevent the vacuum created in the suction tube from influencing the reading.
3. The exhaust filter indicator is red
Change the exhaust filter and then press "Reset" to switch off the indicator light.

If you go about cleaning on the highest power setting the engine will overheat after 5-10 minutes. It then will need around 20-30 minutes to cool down before you can use it again.

Tip: Don't run the machine on 100% power, instead turn the setting to around 80-90% and then you can enjoy good suction un-interrupted.

Miele S 312i canister vacuum

It could be the switch, reel cord assm., speed control or motor. Most likely not the motor, but possible. It will have to trouble shoot to find out what is bad.
