Re: Dell W2600 LCD
I did a Google search about DELL's warranty. They are very much like other manufactures.
Depending on the product type, you basicly get a 30 day direct exchange if the unit dies within the first 30 days. After that, you get an exchange of a re-conditioned set for up to 1 year. To go beyond the 1 year, you need to have bought a service agreement with them. The maximum for some specific products is up to 4 years. The do not fix your unit and return it. They give you an exchange unit that is also used and was serviced by them (their service contractor).
Depending on the product, they give a limited period of time free 24/7 product support over the phone. This is really more useful for computers. There is not much a user can do with a TV set other than a few menu settings, connecting devices to it, and the power switch.
Warranty laws are different between the different countries. In the US, and in Canada, the warranty policies can vary from state to state, or province to province depending on the local consumer laws. Canada and the UK have more strict warranty laws that in the US.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

If you can Solder and know what capaciotrs, resistors are you can ,or you can exchange out the boards. Look for Bad Capacitors on the Power Supply Board, this is the most common problem on these TVs 1000uf 16v 2200uf 10v 3300uf 10v they will be vented or puffed up on Top.
Dell will replace it if it's less than 3 yrs old but apparently their tech support people are clueless about this and have to be told what they need to look up. The replacement is a nice gesture except if you're like me and paid >$1,000 for this more than 3 yrs ago. I have had TV's > 20 yrs and don't reacall major problems with any.

Reason: Dell LCD TV has the No Power issue
you are loosing communication signal from remote to TV. The main board is responsible for the communications. its the board with the most connections located on the back under the back cover and top cover of the circuit boards. Replace that board, u should be ok. Do a ebay search for main board for dell w2600
I have had the Dell W2600 for about 4 years. My remote for the Dell stopped working after 16 months. Since I was using cable I used the cable box remote. However, about 6 months ago a dark shadow appeared on some parts of the screen but the tv was still viewable. Shortly after, my power light would suddenly go out and then come back on after a minute or so. The problem got progressively worse until tonight it was off for most of the show I was watching and would come back on briefly. I popped the rear cover off and removed the metal shield and found most of the wires on one of the wire harness coming from the power supply board burned so badly the insulation was gone and the plastic connector assembly on the board melted. Because of the nature of modular board construction the power supply board and wire harness would need to be replaced and that doesn't necessarily mean the cause was fixed! To me this is a safety hazard. The TV is definitely out of warranty but I wouldn't expect this type of hazard problem. FYI, the parts I can read are made in China....what's new!
