There are many options on doing this freeware, built in OS tools XP PRO, VISTA business or ultimate with a vpn, or purchaced software like Go to my PC or LOGme in . With the first two choices you may need router access at home and work and can be difficult to set up at times. logmein is free for basic service and MAY work through most router/firewall setups and are very easy to use. Gotomypc is also free to try for 30 days and may work for you too. I use VNC because I have multiple operating systems at home but I am also a GEEK
I will give you any assistance you need just ask.

Sorry I did not understand what you were trying to do fully. That is a long distance for a wireless connection with consumer electronics even with LINE OF SIGHT. and too far for a cable unless it was fiber optic. You can not get broadband at your home address? this would probably cost much less than hiring a professional company to set up a commercial grade wireless setup and purchasing airspace

I have my internet Broadband connection in my office .And I want to share this broadband connection network into my home through WiFi . But the problem is that my home is almost 1 mile away from my office...

No. Wifi has a distance of 120 feet indoors and 300 feet outdoors in a perfect environment.

Even if you were able to install wireless repeaters for the wifi you will experience many networking issues.

If you wish to share your internet you may want to look into a mobile hotspot. You can take that device anywhere where the service provider is covering.

Need to know what i need to connect my prewired home (with cat5 cable running from box in garage to jacks in 4 rooms) to the internet. currently just have cable modem in office.

You would need a 4 - 8 port router... with a wire going to each Jack... and these would plug into the Router ports, The router plugs into the Modem. You have to put the Ethernet plugs on each end of the Cat5 cable. Then you setup your network. But if you have a wireless router you simply need each PC WiFi enabled, IE: A wireless card in each PC, that way you do NOT need Cat5. Then each PC, simply connects to the Router/Modem.

Adding a computer to wireless at home

1) Go to the computer that is connected directly to the Linksys router.

2) Open up Internet Explorer (or your favorite browser).

3) In the address bar, where it says "http://www...." clear out everything in there and type in the following numbers:

192.168.1.1

Press "enter" on your keyboard. This will open up a dialog box asking for your username and password. Try leaving the username blank, and type in "admin" for the password.

Now you're in a web page that controls your router. Look for the Wireless section, and make sure wireless is enabled. Check for wireless security as well, because you may need to enter a long number in your computer once it finds the router.

If you still need more help, feel free to ask.

This has happened to my brother in-law several times! I have fixed it twice myself by downloading the driver package from Sierra Wireless DO NOT USE THE ATT SOFTWARE, at least in an Acer 6920, as it trashes Vista beyond repair. Have no idea why they keep selling this, and why they keep telling him to do it all over again. Didn't work from the very beginning, and the ATT salesman did the first install, telling him that he would just have to restart it at home and it would be "all better" - yeah right, now we know why he doesn't work for a real computer company!!! Connet my home pc

obviously, you cannot use a cable to link up from your office network.
1 know your provider and the kind of WAN service offered
2.Get a router that is compatible with your office network and configure your router with similar priorities with that of your officce network(a wireless radio might be require)

or if you are not vast networking, invite a network administrator to do it for u
