Lifts, green light blinks, but it does not get hot.

Have tried several outlet plugs to double check.

No luck. Only 6 months old.

SOURCE: Iron No Longer Heats Up

Recommended solution, gently shake, did not work.

Considering the iron was at a minimum two years old, I decided to purchase another Rowenta. I found the recommended solution documented on a FAQ sheet enclosed with the new iron.

I actually own another Rowenta iron (I now have three) that has the same issue. I will send one iron, the one manufactured in Germany, to a Rowenta Service Center to see if can be repaired - it was the first Rowenta iron I purchased and it provided several good years of service.

I got this iron for christmas, it shot steam 2 times and thats all. I had it set on cotton, linen. I used reg bottled water, should i use tap and why no shots of steam.

take it back for a warranty exchange after you check that the thermostat setting is on steam
distilled water is recommended for irons
bottled water ( filtered water) and tap water is the same product and will have minerals and contaminates that affect irons

I plugged my max 110 V Oliso iron into our house's only 220 V outlet. Smoke is being emitted and it is unusable (The iron, not iron). Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

are you saying that the iron works with 110 volts and you plugged it in a 220 volts outlet??? if so then the voltage is to high for the iron (luckily it didn't get burnt) but all you need to do is plug it into a 110 volt outlet

My iron does not heat up

The most likely cause is a faulty temperature sensor. The Iron is most likely shutting itself off because it believes that it is already at the correct heat. The less likely scenario would be a faulty heating element. In either case you will not be able to fix this yourself.
Check that the Iron is correctly plugged into a working outlet as that often tends to be the solution we all miss.
