Question about Car Audio & Video
Yellow wire is always the memory or back up, which is always 12 volts even with key off. Red is for ignition, 12 volts only when key is on. Black is ground. Speakers are color coded in pairs, the grey and white pairs are the fronts and the green and purple pairs are the rear speakers. Each speaker wire with a black stripe is the negative speaker lead and the solid color is the positive.

SOURCE: I bought a panasonic CQ-RX-100U
The best way to do this is to go to Wal-Mart or an automotive store and buy the wiring harness that connects the to together without damaging the factory wires. They only cost around $10 to $20 bucks and make things alot faster and more simple. Hope this helps some.
