Scratches we have a black colored refrigerator which so hard to maintain coz even minor scratches seem so obvious and evident. the shine of its doors are not uniform anymore, there are parts that are shiny and the others are not. i came to realize now that having a black colored appliances like refrigerators are hard to maintained. what to do now to bring back the gloss and shine of our refrigerator? thanks

Make sure you use appliance black paint. But before you remove and paint the handles, compare the color for color match- not all black are exactly the same. Color can differ with brands.

HI LISA.getting old.could be a no of things.try these simple checks1-is motor making noise.(compressor).if not is hot?2- condenser is it hot or cold3- any ice at all inside freezer?if yes defrost all and try.(could be defrost timer/heater/t/stat/fan)4-if NOice it could be lack of refrigerant condenser fanmotor.or motor .hope this helps otherwise call engineer.good luck.Ali

YOU WILL NEED A POWER POLISHER WITH A BUFFING PAD AND SOME YELLOW ROUGE AND WHITE ROUGE, (CAN BE PURCHASED AT HOME DEPOT TOOL DEPARTMENT). APPLY BUFFING PAD TO POLISHER AND TURN ON, SET TO LOWEST SETTING, APPLY YELLOW ROUGE TO PAD AS IT SPINS, ( START AT CENTER OF PAD AND MOVE OUTWARDS), DO THIS TWICE THEN BEGIN POLISHING STAINLESS,APPLY SLIGHT PRESSURE BUT ALLOW POLISHER TO DO WORK, REPEAT AS NEEDED, APPLY WHITE ROUGE TO BRING OUT SHINE.

The make appliance touch up paint. It comes in most colors and is only a couple dollars. If you look in the phone book and look under appliance parts or appliance parts distributer. They usually have this paint in stock. Or go to this link, http://www.repairclinic.com/Paint-Parts

contact maytag. A lot of manufacturers sell touch up paint for exactly your situation...but black is black IMHO.

Dont let that scratch get ya down. It is really easy to get that scratch fixed. You will first need to buy you some appliance touchup paint. You can get a small bottle about the size of a nail polish. It even has a little brush inside like nail polish. If you get the correct color just brush a little into the scratch and viola, all better. If you have a stainless steel refrigerator that scratch is going to be a part of your life as long as you own the refrigerator. Good luck to ya and remember when you are buying your touchup you may need to order for the brand and color not just the color. Whirlpool bisque may be different than frigidaire bisque. Also you may want to practice your painting technique on a hidden spot before you jump in. Keep a clean cloth on hand also incase you have a run, just wipe it off and start again. See ya... You need to repaint the fridge with apposite product.

Pry off the covers carefully and tighten the screws. The covers will come off. You can even place a thin piece of cardboard between the screw drive and the refrigerators surface so you wont scratch it. Hope this helps
