Question about RCA P52937 52" Rear Projection Television
When the TV is powered on, it makes a high pitch gnawing noise but does not power on. The noise continues as long as the power button is pressed.
Take front panel off, take cover off lower section. Find hi volt problem by locating Hi volt trippler block. On block there are 4 wires that co in to the trippler. The one wire that has a red plastic insert holder going into the block should be taken out and let dangle. Do not let get near any metal to arc. This is the HI VOLT lead from the flyback transformer. Turn set on if piolet light comes on and you have good HIVOLTAGE probley the block is bad . This can give you the noise you hear
