Lately, but not every time, when I turn on my camera it takes a few images that appear on the screen to warp and blur with a lot of green and purple in the picture. Most of the time I take two or three pictures (which are the same warped and weird colors), then it stops and works normally.

We have 2 Powershot S400 cameras. We have had both cameras for several years and both cameras started to exhibit the same blurred image in the view finder within one month of each other. If we try to take a picture, the image is also blurred. Sometimes the problem goes away after a few pictures are taken and sometimes we can turn the cameras off and then back on and the problem will go away.

I havent seen your pictures but your veiw finder shows more than your camers sees so next time dont zoom so close to the subject
make your own pretend boarder to compensate.

Every picture i take of still objects turn out really blurred

How do you hold your camera? Holding it at arms length and viewing the subject through the screen will practically guarantee a blurred image with most cameras. You might get away with it with cameras equipped with Image Stabilization but not compact digitals.
Use the view finder and hold camera firmly against your face. Frame your subject, take a breath in then exhale, stop breathing momentarily and squeeze the button. (Don't forget to start breathing again!) If possible rest your camera on or against a solid object while shooting.

Hi
I have got an S5000 that I can still view previously taken pictures from the card, but when trying to take pictures the screen and view finder shows a peculiar distorted purple and green picture and any picture taken is just a green blur.
I contacted Fuji and they say they can repair it for £90 (about $120)

Focus problem

It sounds like the eyepiece focus adjustment knob may just need to be set for your eyesight. There should be a small knob or dial with a + & - sign around it. This is the "diopter" which doesn't affect the camera's focusing, only how you see the image.

Nikon D40 will not focus

on the right side of the view finder there is a little bar. Make sure it is all the way down. If it is in the up position then it will make the viewfinder, shouldn't make the images blurry though. Also make sure it is in AF not MF (auto focus and manual focus).

Blurred image

The viewfinder image should look sharp & clear, as long as the camera is turned ON. If the camera is OFF, the viewfinder image will blur. At least this is how it works on my C2000z. If your viewfinder is always blurry, I would return the camera for exchange.
