The opening fits on the right side, toward back. There is the silver ring with the slot in it for the bobbin. That slot is facing the sewer.

SOURCE: I can't get my Singer Prelude sewing machine to

This one will take fidgetting. Basically, ensure that you can get those parts in right(there will really only be one way. Check your manual to make sure you've got them in right. Singer has most manuals available online for free for their machines.)

The problem will continue until you have those parts in correctly. Sorry!

How do you open the bobbin compartment on a Singer 4411

Here are the steps to open the bobbin compartment on a Singer 4411 sewing machine:
  1. Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the bobbin compartment on the front side of the machine, below the needle plate.
  3. Hold the handwheel on the right side of the machine with your right hand and turn it towards you (counterclockwise) until the needle is at its highest position.
  4. Slide the bobbin cover release button, located to the right of the bobbin compartment, to the right and hold it there.
  5. The bobbin cover should now pop open. Gently pull it towards you to fully open the compartment.
To close the bobbin compartment, simply push the bobbin cover back into place until it clicks and locks into position.

How can I get the needle plate back on my singer Curvy sewing machine model 8763?

If it fit when you took it off, but you're having trouble putting it back on again, chances are you haven't put your bobbin case in correctly--that's why it won't fit. Review the placement of the case in your user's manual; if you can't locate it, you can download one free at the Singer Sewing Machine site.

New Singer 1507- handwheel is stuck.

The bobbin might have a bunch of thread off it inside the compartment here the bobbin is. Also, make sure it's thread correctly, that can goof things up to.

Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

The fabric gets pulled down into bobbin compartment and thread gets all bunched up hard to remove

It sounds like your bobbin compartment might be pulled out of alignment. You might want to take the bottom plate off, clean off any lint and threads, and put the bottom compartment back in. Follow your manual if you have it. With your right wheel, slowly start to sew is the top or bottom thread having problems? You may have to rethread top and bottom. I found that one time, my top thread was not threaded correctly.

Thread catching and bunching up in bobbin latch while sewing

I had the same problem where the thread was getting all bunched up on the underside. I took everything out and followed the manual concerning threading, then manually moved my right wheel to see if it would get bunched up. It took awhile, but I finally got it sew correctly again. I;m still not sure what was wrong with it. I have a singer 7470.
