Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Macbook Warranty I bought my Macbook 14 days ago and I want to add on the warranty.  When I bought the computer, the Apple representative told me that I could purchase this anytime online.  I attempted to do so, but I see that I am to go to the store or call customer service.  The store is closed now, as it is approximately 9:30pm, so I called customer service.  I was told that the department I need to purchase the warranty is now closed and that I will need to wait until tomorrow.  This means that it will be past the 14 day period.  Will I miss out on the warranty because I was misinformed by one of your representatives??

One thing that helps Apple stand out from the rest is that anytime within your one-year warranty period you can add AppleCare (their service plan) onto it. So don't fret. You're in good hands.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I just bought my new macbook air today, and suddenly after playing with the text to speech to iTunes- the sound stopped altogether, i get nothing. I just bought this a few hours ago! what do I do?

Open System Preferences, and click on the Sound icon. Under the Output tab, make sure "Internal Speakers" is highlighted, and the "Output volume" slider is not all the way to the left.
If that is the case, take it to the Apple Store and have a technician look at it. Since you only got it a few hours ago, they'll fix any issues free of charge. (It's under warranty for a year)

My Pro cursor suddenly began jumping around on its own and is difficult to command from the touch pad! Its less than 1 year old.

I had this same problem with my MacBook Pro. It then began to stop booting as well. Schedule an Apple Genius Bar appointment here and tell them the problem. For me they took it to the back shop and told me they'd ship it back in approximately 7 days. However, with the looming threat of a $1,700 cost for repair if water damage was found. None was and my computer was shipped to my house fixed and with a new body casing.
Consider the following before you try this: -My laptop was under warranty. -My laptop was also in near perfect condition. -And an Apple store was only minutes from my house.
I really do hope this helps! Please rate my answer if you get the chance! :)

My macbook pro does not recognice the built-in iSight! Why??

I had this problem early last summer. I was told by an Apple representative that it is related to the NVIDIA graphics processor failing (it's a known manufacturing defect). If this is the case, the repair cost will be covered by Apple (even if your warranty has expired). If you take it to the Apple store, they will evaluate it for free and can determine if that is really the cause.

Macbook pro 15" dies after display and magsafe charger problems

if you are still under warranty, make an appointment at the genius bar, and have them fix it for free at the apple store.

the macbook pros from last year had faulty nvidia cards in them, and the warranty on them were extended to two years parts and labor.

Macbook screen messed up

Hi there
Yep, I understand your concern.

The cheapest and quickest way is to get an external monitor.
You can pick up flat LCDs very cheaply these days. Even second hand ones on ebay.

The only down side is you cannot use the mac on the move.

I for instance have a monitor at work and at home. I just plug my mac into the monitor where ever I am.

The new monitors come with digital cables.

Good luck

If your warranty is through best buy, you must go through best buy for your warranty or support issues. It does not matter what computer make or model you purchase from them.

You will have to invoke the warranty to get this answer
They will either fix under warranty or name a price if it was deemed to be out side the warranty
Un;s any one here has personal experience, could the 'how much' element of your query could be answered

My ipod stopped working

Yes, it is possible for a battery to die, though 2 or 3 months is a bit short. If you have some way of proving the date of purchase you should be able to take the iPod to an Apple store and talk to one of the "Genius" guys. If it is a battery it should still be covered under warranty. If it isn't covered under warranty, they will be able to get a replacement battery for you which would be cheaper than buying a new one. Hope that helps!
