My entrega hub 7U or mac hub 7u was humming along just fine for 2+ years then one day the power supply died. Nothing on hub to indicate the voltage or current and have since misplaced the bad power cube. Anyone got the info we all need to fix the problem.? (ie get a new power supply?) With no markings, taking it to Radio Shack will not work, there is no info on what we need, can't tell by looking at hub. djp

The device register 15 volts only and I need 19 to power the computer. I have the Pro Universal Notebook and device power supply. I have a HP laptop.

You have a defective power supply.

Luckily, there is a solution.

At Fry's electronics, BestBuy, and Comp USA, if you bring in the power supply to them they will replace it at no charge.

The only thing you have to do to get it is to ask nicely.

I was told this at all 3 places, they all said pretty much the same thing every time, as long as you are polite and ask nicely, then they will replace it with no problem.

Now, if you go in ther mad, demanding it to be replaced, then they might just tell you to get out of their store, and not replace anything, that, or they might get you a new one, and charge you the 30 bucks that it costs to buy it.

All the stores have an unwritten policy on things like that.

Also, if you have it, check your printer power supply, sometimes they will work if nothing is available.

I hope this helps you out.

Good luck to you, and have a nice day.

How to repair the dso power supply ? is there a circuit diagram ? thx

repairing a power supply do not need a diagram often faulty on a power supply are the regulator transistor, capacitors, resistors, and diodes. just check these parts and you can fix the power supply.check also for loose contacts and connectors this also cause a fault on the power supply.

I just had a power outage and now my HP 4104gl procurve switch will not power back on.

I hope that you've gotten this problem resolved by now... but if you haven't, it sounds like you have a blown power supply. You can contact HP at 1-866-my-procurve. Use caution as to how you tell you it died or they won't help you with this problem.
They may be able to ship you replacement power supply or switch.

Power over ethernet switch

Rather than try to explain it here, this link will take you too a great source of the technology.

Redundant Power Supplies
One advanced feature available on high-end machines (especially servers) but also available to the general public for those willing to pay for it, is a redundant power supply. In essence, this is a power supply that actually includes two (or more) units within it, each of which is capable of powering the entire system by itself. If for some reason there is a failure in one of the units, the other one will seamlessly take over to prevent the loss of power to the PC. You can usually even replace the damaged unit without taking the machine down. This is called hot swapping, and is an essential productivity backup for use in servers and other machines used by a number of people.

Hope this helps.

Managable switch problem

I can assume that you mean it does not power on. If that is the case, remove the power supply (or supplies) and re-insert them to make sure they are getting a good connection to the backplane. Make sure the power supply (or supplies) is locked in to place and make sure it is turned on (if applicable, like my Cisco 5509).

If there is more than one power supply, try plugging them all in. In my experience that is the trick to getting a multi-psu enterprise switch to fire up. Once up, one of the power supplies can be disconnected, but may set fault status to the switch.

Hope this helps!

Supply problem

If you could state your problem cleary, you might get a better answer.
What can't your switch do?
Does it power on? Switched come with a power adapter that plugs directly into the wall power, then other end into the back of the switch. If it doesn't come on, suspect internal problems
