Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9564J Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Will not run or drain

I turned on my washer (Whirlpool Ultimate Care II) it filled with water and did nothing else. I stopped it moved the dial to rinse waited a while an turned it back on. Nothing happened besides a hum (normal) then a click. If I retried right away it wouldn't even hum. I also noticed water on the floor from under the washer (this may be a seperate issue). I used a pen to to hold down the safety switch and tried to get it to drain or spin, I noticed the washer "jumped" like the motor torqued up then quit, it hummed, clicked and was dead again. Guessing either the motor or the transmition needs repaired/replaced.

I just took the front/side(s) cover off and rigged it to work w/out the lid. When the spin should kick on I can see the water exaust manifold (or what ever it's called) torque. I asume this means that the motor wants to turn but can't for some reason.

I got it fixed!!! Whew...:D I took the "manifold" (it's the waterpump) off and tried the washer again, it spun-up. I tried to turn the impeller, it was stuck. Turns out one of my kids socks fell into the tub out of the bowl and got sucked in. I pulled it out and reinstalledthe pump and started it up...ran just fine. Hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem.

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Washer doesn't stop filling with water

If this only happens when the machine is turned on,the tube from the tub to the water level switch is pinched or broken. If the clear plastic tube is not pinched or broken, the water level switch in the control console is bad. If the machine lets water through when it is in the OFF position, the water valve where the hoses connect are bad.

Wont stop filling with water

You need to replace the fill switch its not sensing or stopping the w ater. It is fairly simple. Remove the plastic molding on the ends. Remove two screws holding down the control panel. The fill switch is over to the left, and has a clear tube attached to it. Remove tube and wires, lift tab keeping it from turning, turn 45 degrees and remove switch. Replace and test in all positions. Good luck whirlpool is a good brand.

Washer stopped after wash cycle

The lid switch is the culprit. Push down on the lid it should start. It needs to be adjusted . the tab on the lid is not activating the switch. Try triming the door bumpers.

Water pump must not be running. Check if the belt is not broken or came off or the dial switch is bad or the clutch is not engaging.

Good luck

Whirlpool ultimate care II keeps filling flooding the garage. It will not move off the fill position on the little turn dial. we manually move the dial to try to get it to agitate and the only spot it will...

A couple questions.

Does it continue to fill with the timer turned off.
Yes, you have a mixing valve problem
No. You probably have a pressure switch problem,

I would guess its the pressure switch, check to make sure the hose running from the outer tub to the pressure switch has a cut in it and needs to be replaced, or the pressure switch is bad.

If you are uncomfortable trying to find problem call a service tech.
