It is installed, have icon in corner, getting great signal, but keeps saying limited use or no connection to net. i am writting this from the other computor that is running fine, help! the adapter is from Ralinkteck.com. the product name is "wireless 802.11b/g detachable high gain antenna usb dongle.
For wireless connection you make use of a 'hot spot'.since the sinal is coming fine,get authentication from your provider(a kind of acess)

Bluetooth is not WiFi, they are two seperate technologies.
you need a Wireless adapter 802.11b/g for your laptop,
you would connect the two to each other using an adhoc connection,
If you had a wireless router for your internet you could connect directly to the router, (and then you would not have to have your main computer on for you to access the internet.
BTW if your Main machine is near your phone point (for internet connection) you would not need a wireless card for your pc, as you could connect via LAN cable to the wireless router (make sure you get one with lan ports)
