Remove the valve covers and pull the spark plugs. so you can find the compression stroke. when you fill air coming out of the head. make the piston come all the way to top. watch rocker arms so that they the same hieght. use a filler gauge ( .005 ) put betwen the rocker arm and the valve. tighten rocker arms to the gauge. make sure you cheek again after tighting the rocker nuts

Need part number fo voltage regulator on a 407677-0258-E1. Thanks

This appears to be something for a Briggs and Stratton engine, so I moved it from the Microwave Ovens category.

'Make model (what is is)' in all questions please and in this case (what it is off) as well :>D

How do I adjust the valves on a Briggs and Stratton Intek V Twin

Remove the valve covers look up your valve clearance specs turn the engine by hand until the piston is at top dead center then go 1/4 turn past that and then put a feeler gage for the valve clearance you need for that valve and snug up the adjustment nut. Check your oil when your done some oil will spill out when opening the valve cover.

How to adjust the valves on b/s 18hp model 422707

Though the valves are adjustable, in a grinding cutting kind of way- they require the valve be removed from the block to do so. So no actual adjuster. The good news is, this "L head" engine doesn't have the same issues as the OHV family and rarely ever need valve service at all. Are you having difficulty

Ajust valves

The valves need to be adjusted every year due to normal ware. I all depends on the motor for adjustment is it a single or twin cylinder engine over head valves or not. Please be more specific.

94 Saturn Twin Cam Valve Adjustment

Valve slash and clearance adjustments should only be performed by certified mechanics and is not a job for the garage or novice hands on type.
If you still decide to proceed, I suggest you get your hands on a maintenance manual which will list the procedure step by step, including proper torque values.
