Spark ignitor won't stop clicking

We have a Jenn Air JGD8130 cooktop. Last night milk was accidently spilled on the stove and now the when the any of the knobs are turned to the OFF position, the ignitors continuously spark, and will not stop. it still lights a flame, but the sparks click. We tried unplugging it from the outlet and plugging it back in but they still will not stop sparking/clicking.

My Jenn-Air cooktop igniters are possessed. The burners take turns making endless clicking. Sometimes, waving a hand over the flame gets it to stop. At other times, a Fonz-style whack on the surface. Shifting the position of pan ocassionally does the trick.

I've had a dozen ranges in my lifetime, this one is the worst, hands-down.

Dry the ignitors and see if that works. If not, then get new ignitors.

The electric igniter wont stop clicking

damaged ignitor switch, either something spilled on it or it has failed...depending on unit could be a spark module control also. let sit unplugged for a day or two and see what happens.

Gas range igniters won't shut off

The problem that you're describing is commonly associated with the spark modulator. It usually occurs after a spill or when the ignitor electrodes have remained wet after a cleaning. If after a day or two it continues to spark intermittently on its own, then the only recourse would be to replace the module. Hope this helps,,,, Bill

Ignitors wont shutoff

The common way to control the ignitors is a cam on the individual shafts acting on a 'normally open' switch that is depressed in the ignition position. One of these switches has failed and no longer able to return to its normally open condition.
You may be able to locate the defective one by 'exercising' each control back and forth past the ignition position to see if one of them will cause the ignitor to stop. You may have had a spill that has allowed food liquids to gum up the switch.
