HP Pavilion DV2000

I got a HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop from my cousin and they say that maybe it's the black-light that is dead. When I turned on the laptop the screen is completely black, but if you pick up the screen to the sunlight you can see some writing. It says something about the problem was caused by removing or change programs or your hard-drive has problems. The laptop keep on rebooting by itself after 20 second. I don't know what to do or what happened to the laptop.

The backlight for my pavilion dv2000 is not lighting up. the laptop boot ugh i can see faintly, am able to move the mouse and open any program the screen remains so faint ie partially black

Well looks like your cfl tube is dead or the card powering it is dead. the easiest thing to do is to
find a Laptop repair center, the can change either the backlight tube (like a neon tube really) or the inverter or the whole screen.

You might want to try it yourself if you find a working screen for your HP.
Is is fastidious but not that dificult.

Here you can see a step by step tutorial on how to remove the screen for another Hp model.

My HP Pavilion dv2000 turns on, but screen is black

If the laptop appears to boot up but the LCD screen is black, then the problem is a back-light fault caused by either a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to determine the fault and fix :-

Hp pavilion dv2000 notebook will not boot up

hi,
i m in Hong Kong. The stupid HP repair center charged US 90 just for inspection!!!!! They they said the whole motherboard had to be replaced, thts additional US 630 dollars, the thing is just 1.5 yr old. They also said i don get to keep the broken mother board after replacement. This is simply irresponsible, unethical, sleazy and UNJUST!!

Thanks. right now the computer is fixed for US70. when i hv time, i'll open it up and see if i can figure it out how it was fixed. The shop suggested tht the computer wont last too long. This is such bad quality for HP... Sorry, i hv to do the following for other victims to find this easily:
(can some creative netizen bring this to the public light to pressure HP to do the ethical things??)

bad quality HP. hong kong HP pavilion dv2000 series manufacture problem. HP unethical.
