Your TV has either a vertical alignmet problem or a yoke adjustment problem.
In few cases you can fix a verical alignment problem with a reset procedure , as suggested, but in majority of tv sets you need to pervorm a service alignment procedure.

If is not that is a yoke adjustment problem, in this case TV need a yoke adjust procedure, this must be done on open tv with power on. It is quite a dangerous operation if not performed by an expert, in this case you will have to contact a repairman.
I can be more precise if you post make and model for your TV.

Regards

If it is an LCD then you need to adjust the alignment. Check if he procedure is in user manual, athorwise should be in the service manual, that is not available for download.
Try contacting Sharp and get a copy, or ask the procedure for vertical alignment.

    Here is the user manual
Follow the procedure at page 31, I think it will fix the problem.

Picture flickers every few minutes

There are several possibilities. This model is based on CRT (picture tube) technology, and has a high voltage circuit. This circuit consists of three heavy wires, one from the side of each picture tube (red, green and blue) going to a single connection block. There is another heavy wire from this to the high voltage transformer on one of the circuit boards.

First, unplug the set, and wait 20 minutes to make sure everything is cool and residual high voltage charge has drained away. Check the wires at the connection block to make sure they are not loose. There is usually some sort of retainer clip to lock the wires in place, make sure these are not broken or unlatched (sometimes they get brittle with heat and aging). Frequently these are covered with a thick layer of dust held on by electrostatic attraction; gently vacuum this off. If all looks good, plug in the set, and wait until it's dark outside. Turn on the set with the room lights off, and look at the high voltage parts. If you see a blue corona glow or sparking, that part has an insulation breakdown problem or a bad connection. It is normal to see an orange glow at the bottom of each picture tube, and you would also see the three colors of the picture coming out of the tops of the picture tube. WARNING: do not touch the interior of the set while it is on, especially not in the dark.

Another probable cause is a cracked solder connection on the power/deflection board (the one with the high voltage transformer on it). If the flickering is one color rather than white or a momentary darkening, the problem is in one picture tube circuit (yellow -> blue dropout; ->cyan -> red dropout; magenta -> green dropout). The picture tube circuit includes not only the high voltage (second anode) section, but also the picture tube drive connection on the base of the tube all the way back to the video processor and switching circuits.

Sony projector tv trusurround

There are two possibility for this fault. The first one is, with its CRT base connector sockets. If this socket is bad, an out of focus picture will be displayed at first switch ON, which will gradually gain focus after some time, say, 15 to 30 minutes. If the humidity of atmosphere is high, it might take more than this specified time above, and might take up to an hour or so. Replace the CRT base sockets, and check first. The vertical rolling might be due to insufficient supply voltage from the power regulator board, and should be checked after you have rectified this out of focus problem.
If you're sound in electronics, and wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Flip card, can be selected by the drop-down list, by the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name / model number / IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window. google.com/+GopakumarGopalan

Picture too dark. Particularly noticable during night scenes in movies. Adjusting brightness all the way up helps, but not enough.

hi,
Try to claen the top of three crt guns inside you tv. also the reflecting mirror behind the screen.
one more thing you have to check, that is the CRT base sockets. After some years of use its contact will become bad. As there is three crt guns there will be three crt base sockets on the neck of each. Replace all the three crt base sockets at the same time. It will improve picture quality.
ok

Hi,
You tv is a crt one , that means there will be three crt guns inside your tv. Check the base socket of all the three crt guns. if the base socket have some problem the picture will become out of focus.
That why there is two images. Just change the three base sockets of crt guns, will solve your problem.

Vertical jitters on picture - JVC AV48P776

What you are experiancing is loss of High voltage. The line is called a retrace line. It is usally caused by failure of the flyback circuit or aging of the TV tube. This is the single most common failure with CRT based display systems. The high voltage can be tweaked up, to accomidate for the age of the tube. Its a short term solution. Because of the high voltage nature of this circuit, suggest a professional repair.

Help needed to adjust the picture size.

I can only suggest that you read the manuel it should give you guidelines for this problem .. if you do not have the manuel you may be able to download one in PDF form from the manufacturers .
The other slight possibility is if the projection unit is a rear free standing type it may have been pushed closer to the screen some how perhaps during a furniture reshuffle I have had this happen before and people dont think of it untill the engineer ask's ? .. regards Vortash
