Hi

Error code 57.5 in HP 8150 means that printer fan error has occurred with the power supply fan. This issue can also be due to laser/scanner fan. Make sure both the fans are working perfectly fine. If the fans are fine, then the error is due to DC controller board.

To resolve this error turn off the printer for 4-6 hours (atleast 4 hours), this will reset the error. However, even after 4 hours you still can see the error then please check and replace the fan1 (power supply fan). Also, check for any burnt components on the dc controller board.

    Hi

DC Controller board is the unit where we plug the power cord. Remove the large panel off the back of the printer. (Opposite side of the LED display) It's the metal box that runs the entire length of the printer.
After removing this housing you'll be able to see a circuit board with a fan nearby. The circuit board is the DC Controller board and fan is the Power supply fan.

You may need a multimeter to check out the DC controller board components.

Precaution-- Before doing any of this stuff please turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source as the power board stores power for a long time and can prove fatal. Make sure that the current drains out from the printer and the you disassemble it(takes approx. 10-15 minutes).

Hp Laserjet 8150 LVPS replacement

It is located in the back of the printer on the bottom. Remove the back cover. With the power off, remove the formatter board by loosening the two big screws and pulling out. Remove the plastic cover by the side of the formatter cage. Remove the fan housing by the power connector by removing the two screws, disconnect the cable and pull straigt out. Now remove the big cable at the top and unwind from the high voltage ps. Remove the white connector in the middle of the low voltage ps. Next trace the white cable wires running from the ps to the dc controller and remove the cable from the dc controller. Now trace the fan cable for the fan in the front of the ps and remove it from the dc controller. Remove all the screws which secure it to the frame and pull straight out. Move the fan in front from the old ps to the new and reverse instructions...
Take off the large metal side cover. Look down at the bottom of the printer. The large box is the LVPS. Remove the screws holding it and follow the wiring up to where it plugs in and pull the connectors off. You'll also have to remove the fan above the LVPS on the top right side of it. You will have to take the fan mounted on the LVPS off and put it on the replacement LVPS as they don't come with fans.
