not familiar with computers, I purchased a used laptop from a stranger who I cannot contact now. This IBM ThinkPad has space to the right side that I can pop open. When I try to put anything in and close -that's fine but I get error No D:drive. How can I reinstall it - had to have been there before right? Type 2628-CYU the rest I cannot make out.
the good news is that u can still get a replacement drive for your laptop P/N FRU P/N ThinkPad 24x-10x CD-ROM Ultrabay 2000 Drive

I have an Asus eeePC 701 which came with Linux but I replaced that with a madified Win XP Pro. Now the USB ports seem only to be 1.1. I want to download a 2.0 enhanced controller to see if the ports can be upgraded, but do not seem to be able to download a driver even when I think I have found a suitable one.
