Compatibility Is an Epson D92 printer comatible with a Canoscan N670U scanner

The solution was quick, efficient and successful.

    Many thanks Pterocarpus.

However, the problem stemmed from the scanner so, thanks to you, I persuaded it to do one more job and then replaced it

( a drastic action which was long overdue).

The replacement is a Mustek BearPaw and this seems to be 'good mates' with my Epson D92 - which is also very new

Best wishes - and thanks again

I hope that you will enjoy a great weekend

    Hello Cestrian,

Your printer and your scanner don't have to be made by the same manufacturer. There's no consideration, really, for their compatibility w/ one another.

As far as compatibility, what you need to be sure of, when you intend to add any new hardware device to your computer, is whether that hardware device is compatible w/ your computer's own hardware or, more often, your computer's operating system.

So, two things to consider for your printer and your scanner:

    (1) Is there a connection available on your computer for each of these devices

    (2) Does your operating system support each of these devices.

You can find information and downloads for your Canoscan N67U scanner HERE.

You can find information and downloads for your Epson Stylus Color D92 printer HERE.

    (A) Choose INKJET PRINTERS in the far left column

    (B) Choose STYLUS D92 in the middle column

    (C) Choose your operating system in the far right column.

    (D) Click the CONFIRM SELECTION button

Both of these devices connect to your computer using an USB cable. So, if you have at least one USB port (connection) available on your computer you can connect them to it. (If you have only one USB port available, you can use something called a USB "hub" to get both devices connected to the same port. If this is the case, just let us know and we'll go into more detail about that w/ you.

If you need assistance determining your operating system or w/ any other questions or problem regarding this topic, just let us know.

    Thank you

    BJ @:)

My apologies, Cestrian
My previous post is actually a "solution" and not a "request for information".

If my "Solution" answered your question, a "FixYa" rating would by very much appreciated. :)

Again, if you need further assistance at all, please, don't assign ratings to the experts' contributions yet. Once you do, the problem will be closed and we won't be able to continue to assist you.

Just let us know what it is you need or what your questions are and we will continue to work w/ you until you're all set and no longer need our help for this topic.

Thank you,
BJ @:)

    Hello Cestrian

How did it go? Did the information and links I provided you w/ answer your questions regarding compatibility between your scanner and printer?

I DO hope that is the case. :) If it isn't, please, post back here and we'll continue to work w/ you.

If it is the case, would you kindly take just a moment to reward my efforts at helping you w/ a FIXYA rating for my "solution"? I would be very grateful for your kindness and the show of appreciation.

Thank you once again for using FixYa! Have a beautiful day.

Sorry, but the compatibility sites say this is not compatible with Vista or Win 7.

You should probably backstep to Win XP so you can use this scanner.

These manufacturers are letting Microsoft make the hardware obsolete due to lack of drivers... a conspiracy???,

The driver is on the cd that came with your scanner. If you do not have the cd then you should be able to download it from Cannon's website.
