Only heats on timed drying

Dryer will not run on either "Intellidry" setting (reg. or perm. press). However, it runs fine on regular timed drying on all three heat settings. Any ideas???

I have the exact same problem - runs fine on timed. When I attempt to run it in any "Intellidry" mode the center intellidry lamp lights but the dryer won't start.

    Same problem...

Same problem: neither intellidry mode seems to work. When I attempt to start the dryer, the 'damp' light comes on for as long as I pull the start switch but the drum won't roll.

Our Kenmore dryer had the same sort of problem (different catchy names.

Problem was that in "smart" modes (by what ever name, the timer motor runs in series with a "dampness" sensor (thermostat, actually, I think) and A RESISTOR.

Resistor burns out--this is the symptom set.

The dryer works fine in TimeDry mode, but in Intellidry mode it dries very slowly. The "Moisture Moniture" indicator lights start and stay at "Less Dry". I have replaced the moisture...

you could have bad gas coils.if the timer doesn't advance in auto dry most likely you're having heat problems, when the dryer heats and then the heat shuts off then the timer will advance, when the heat comes back on the timer stops,it does this until the clothes are dry.gas coils when starting to fail will work normally until they get hot and then no heat until the coils cool down then they will work again,on time dry the timer just keeps counting down until the time runs out no matter what's happening to the dryer.i've seen the coils fail after the first 10 minutes and other times for 20 to 30 minutes but usually if the load is big and in time dry the clothes will feel warm and you'll need to dry them a second time to get them fully dry, also while you're in ther you should clean out the dryer at least once a year, clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vacuum out the cabinet where the motor is and blow out the vent line,if it's a long run i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, remove it from the back of the dryer, stick the leaf blower into the vent line and blow it out,i've blown out birds nest out of some lines, your clothes will dry on time, you won't go through so many parts and you won't have to worry about a dryer fire, the gas coils are on top of the gas valve, remove the two phillips screws, lift off the cover and change out the coils.next time you use the dryer keep an eye on it,after it runs for 20 minutws start checking it,you'll hear a click, then another click and the flame will lite, look into the gas tube and if the flame isn't liting then you have bad gas coils.

Dryer is not heating up to dry clothes

The spark ignitor maybe at fault. Listen for the clicking noise upon starting it up the first 30 seconds it runs. If not heard it is in need of a replacement

Whirlpool dryer LE6810XS110 timer only works on air fluff and tumble press does not work on regular or perm. press

Check to see if the unit will heat up in the time dry. if the heater does not come on in the time dry cycle, then you will need to change the thermol fuse on the back of hte dryer.

When clothes are dryed on the perm press cycle either reg dry or very dry, they are still damp. I have to run it through 2 or more times to get them dry. I'm told by Bosch that is what perm press is...then...

You may not be getting sufficient air flow--remove the lint filter and wash it with detergent and hot water. Also clean excessive lint out of the air vents (under the filter too). Don't use 'perm press' if you want things absolutely dry. Remove and hang up before they cool. 'Damp dry' really means 'don't dry' I guess!

No heat on my Intellidry?

make sure the control is not set to "air fluff" - check your BREAKERS! if one trips, motor will still run, but no heat, flip them BOTH off and on several times, then try it. if that's not it, check the element and the thermal fuse

Maytag gas dryer wont turn off when done drying in auto dry regular fabrics. does turn off in air fluff and auto dry perm. press. model # d3382

auto dry relies on a moisture sensor to say when its done. so your clothes arent dry enough according to sensor. perm. press. doesnt dry the clothes as much

Dryer runs but wont auto shut off

On auto dry cycles, the cycle is controlled by moisture sensing bars located on either the rear or front bulkhead, ( visible inside dryer ) if the moisture sensor bars are shorted together (normally by wet clothing) the dryer will continue to run. If the dryer continues to run when the clothes are plenty dry, check and see if there is anything stuck between the sensor bars, (sometimes a metal sequin will cause this) or see if they are damaged. If not, you may have a problem with a timer contact, if the timer advances and stops moving at the same spot each time, I would suspect the timer. If this is an EvenHeat dryer, examine the control board located to the right of the timer in the control panel, for any burned components. Hope this helps.
