Wirlpool cabrio f1 error help please!

I am having a problem with our whirlpool cabrio elec dryer, showing the F1 error. usally after 38-45 min of use and it is intermittent.

we had a tech already check it out and could find no problems. we cleaned out all vents, and still recieve this error. going crazy not knowing what to do. we have extended warrenty and only had it for about 2 months.

please help!!

    we get f1 errors on every load. It takes multiple resets to get it to finally work and when it does it will f1 again toward the end of the cycle. The word is that they are all lemons and techs cant fix them. We should all file lawsuit.

There are four areas of concern that can cause the F1 Error Code. Each area must be sequentially addressed to ensure
that the diagnosis is correct and the proper repair is completed.
A) Air leaks in the air pressure (switch/sensor) hose.
a. Inspect the hose for cracks, pin-holes or loose connection.
b. Replace the hose and harness assembly (W10058730) if it is compromised.
B) Moisture in the air pressure (switch/sensor) hose.
a. Inspect the hose for evidence of water.
b. Replace the hose and harness assembly (W10058730) if water is detected.
C) Lint or flashing in the air dome hose connection port.
a. Inspect the air dome hose connection port for lint or flashing.
b. Use a small round device (small screwdriver) to ensure that there is nothing blocking the air dome outlet on
the tub.
D) The control needs to be replaced.
a. Replace the control only after you have completed steps A - C above, and verified that there are no issues
with the air pressure system.

F1 error code is a miscommunication between the control board and the rest of the machine. Check for any loose or damaged wires. If no loose or damaged wires are found, replace the control board and this should clear up your problem.

My dryer was working just fine no problems and out of nowhere it throws the code F1 any suggestions

Go to and enter your model number. The directions on how to find the model number are also on that page.

You might try turning off the dryer and unplugging it completely. Be careful when unplugging the dryer. Let it sit unplugged for a few minutes and then plug it back in. Let it sit plugged in for a few minutes and turn it back on.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer, model WED6400SW, that displays an F1 code. What type of problem does the F1 code signify?

F-1 means a power failure occurred unplug for 15 minutes,it may clear the code,if not you need to check all connection to and from the main control board for good clean connections then retry powering it up again,if this doesn't help then replace this control board
