Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your WorkCentre and will help to clear error codes.

  1. Find the pink Clear button on the Control Panel of the WorkCentre.
  2. Find the button below the word Auto.
  3. Press these buttons in the following sequence: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] NOTE: All of the lights on the Control Panel should go out and the LED Display should go blank. If the lights do not go out, then repeat step 3 until they do. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the pace of the [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] sequence.
  4. Press the [10's] key one time and the [1's] key four times to enter '14' in the LED Display, as if you were to make 14 copies.
  5. Press the green [Start] button.
  6. Press the pink [Clear] button two times.
  7. The WorkCentre should now warm up and come to ready.
  8. If the above steps do not clear the error code, repeat steps 3 to 6 a second time.

Sharp AL2020 AL2040 AL2060 AL2080 H4 H-4 code reset procedure

In most cases the flashing H4 or H then 4 code on these machines is caused by voltage fluctuations or surges. Normally there is nothing wrong with the machine and the code is easily reset. Here is the procedure:<br /> Press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys) <br />Press "C" then the "Auto" key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the "Auto" key again.<br />So in other words C, Auto, C, Auto<br />If done correctly the display should go blank.<br />Then key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.<br />Now press the "print" button<br />The machine should automatically shut down and restart with the H4 code being gone.<br /> If the H4 code comes back after reset then in this case you have a fusing unit problem and will need to have the unit serviced. <br /> Works on Sharp AL series 2020 2040 2060 and 2080<br /> Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.<br />

Hi there, if you want to clear this code its very simple, do the following: -on your control panel locate the clear and auto exposure buttons, next -hit in the following sequence clear, auto, clear, auto without holding them down, after that all your panel lights should go out. If they do not you have to keep trying...They will go out. -Next program the machine as if your going to make 14 copies -Once 14 is displayed, hit the green start button and your copier should be working again.
