I got down to the last four stairs and the solution would no longer come out. I checked the tank and hose connection and tried priming the pump per the instruction manual. nothing worked. Could you make a suggestion as to what the problem could be? Thank You

Check the hose. Take the hose off the vacuum cleaner, if possible. If the clog doesn't shake out, try running something down the hose. Don't poke a hole in the hose.

Fill the steam cleaner with the appropriate amount of cleaning solution and hot water. The instructions on your particular steam cleaner will advise on the amount of solution and water for your particular brand.

Patience is important when steam cleaning carpets. It is not a task you can hurry along. The slower you move the steam-cleaner along the floors the cleaner your carpets will get.

It is unclear as to whether you have a vacuum cleaner or a carpet
cleaner. When there is no more give you have stretched the hose
to the MAX. Vacuums and carpet cleaners come with stair tools.
If for some reason you do not have these go to a local vacuum
store and tell them what you have and ask them what you may need.

Dennis

A tear in the hose will only affect pick up through the hose when using it to clean furniture, stairs, and such. It will have no effect on the carpet cleaning operation. If the hose cannot be replaced for a while, black electrical tape is one solution to seal the crack.

How do i hook up my stair cleaner part to my hoover steamvac to clean my carpeted stairs? f5909=900 model

Hi There,

I'll be happy to walk you through step by step how you can attach the hose to your Hoover SteamVac.

Here are step by step instructions for you:

Step 1. To prevent possible leaking, remove
clean solution tank by pressing down on
tank handle (D) and pulling forward; set
tank aside (do not set tank on furniture2_bing.gif).
Remove hose from storage rack.

Step 2: Step on handle release pedal (E) and
lower carpet cleaner handle until it rests
on the floor.
Unlatch back part of recovery tank and
remove lid.

Step 3: Remove recovery tank front panel (F)
by sliding it straight up.

Step 4. Replace panel with converter (G).
Slide converter halfway down opening
until it is firmly in place.

Step 5. Before connecting tube (H) to
cleaner, make sure black tabs are
extended by pulling tan collar toward
tube.
Open door on hood labeled “Stair/
upholstery Cleaning Connection”. Press
round solution tube connector onto
round projection inside door. Press connector
collar down firmly to ensure
that it is fully connected.

Step 6. The tank replaces in a hinge-like
manner. Position front of lid under tabs
(I) on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto
tank.
Make sure lid is secure on all sides
before cleaning.
For full suction, it is important that
the recovery tank lid is properly
secured before cleaning.
Reverse procedure to remove hose
and solution tube.
Raise carpet cleaner2_bing.gif handle to upright
position.
