Question about PC Desktops

I had to replace the hard drive in a Systemax CY 27 notebook. I did not have a restore disk. I loaded XP pro back on. Now the system does not recognize a video device. It is just running on a windows driver. Driver Guide just shoes that there is no video. Any suggestions? Thanks Frank

Need to wipe my hard drive and start over due to problems. I did not recieve an XP CD. How do i reset the s/w to is original state when the 1st system restore has long since been deleted?

Go to the manufacturer website and see if you can purchase a replacement copy of the original software ... the license should be affixed to yor computer.

You should get the software for your hard drive manufacturer to wipe the drive.

Systemax factory restore - how?

Tap F4 repeatedly to launch the recovery console on SystemMax Machines with the recovery partition still intact. Then you should be able to restore the machine to factory defaults without a CD.

Systemax Venture problems........

The installation of XP should take about an hour, if it is still hanging, I am thinking the hard drive got messed up when you had the poer outage.
If you don't have any utilities to check your hard drive I suggest you take it to your local computer repair shop and have them diagnose the problem.
Good Luck.

I have a gateway lb3 500 ancient 98se i tried to load xp pro and it crashed i cant seem to even get a 98 startup disk to work to recover it . how can i recover it to load the xp pro onit

Try running linux on it. Linux will run much better on older hardware. Depending an the specs of the system, it may not be able to handle running windows. Try ubuntu ( If it used to run Windows XP or 98 and it wont now, try checking the hard drive. It may be corrupt. You can find hard drive check tools all across the web, google for drive fitness test by hitachi, it works great. Burn to a disk and boot to it on the older machine and do a full advanced test on the drive.

No Audio

I have a friend with a systemax, same thing happened to him.

Go into the control panel, select sounds and audio devices, go over three tabs to the audio tab, make sure the sound default device is the onboard audio card. Should be all set.

Let me know how it works out.

My computer crashed and will not boot back up. It says File\minint\system32\ntkrn1mp.exe could not be loaded. Error code 32768. my computer is an HP that I purchased from costco and it did not come...

hp should have an option on your boot menu (viewed by pressing f8) to boot to system partition. Try that and see what kind of options are there.

No windows xp

Hi Dean,

I can Understand your situation.when this happens it means your system restore files have become damaged. This could be because you don't defragment your computer regularly, you have a virus or malware or your hard drive has just aged a little.

You can either repair or reinstall windows. Windows System Restore isn't actually that good in XP as the problem is still there, just the system restore masks it.

To reinstall please visit for a guide.

You may want to "repair" windows...

Basically it pretends to reinstall Windows by replacing all the broken Windows files... it will NOT erase your drivers, software thats installed or any documents so is 100% safe.

You can find a guide on how to do that at
