OK.I bought three of these units because me and two of my friends drive big rigs in california. all three units when on Hwy channel, does not stop to recieve communication. If i stop it manuely on a frequencey i know will receives,it will work.SO i went through all the pre- programmed frequencies and wrote them down and programmed the into the private user channels, and will work fine.Thats all good but i bought also for the highway warning alert which does not work on the private user channel. All lock outs are off,the squech is right before you here static. All the other channels police,weather,fire/emergencey.rr,air,marine,dot...work great.HELP
Unfortunately, I think this is a common problem with these radios. I have a brand new BCT8 and it started to not receive anything on the pre-programed highway patrol after using less than a month. Unfortunately the best bet would be to contact Uniden which they will probably tell you to reload the firmware (which won't solve the problem) or send it to them to fix.

The BC350C is a factory pre-programmed scanner, so you cannot program it in the standard manner - entering frequencies via the keyboard. You can, however, transfer a displayed frequency from the SCAN or SEARCH mode into the PRIVATE bank. Details for doing this are in the factory manual that you can download and print, at no cost, here: http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BC350Com.pdf
For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit: www.RadioReference.com
Turn on the radio Press the "band" button Keep pressing the "band" button until you come within the parameters of the frequency that you want Let the radio scan until it gets close to the actual frequency that you're looking for Press the "hold" button and use the arrow "up" or "down" button till you lock in the correct frequency Once you have the frequency locked in, press the "program" button Press the "private" button The unused channel will be flashing Press the "program" button, this locks the frequency into that channel Continue this process until all of the frequencies are loaded into the radio
You didn't mention the make or model of your scanner, so I can't provide a response specific to your unit, but the trailing zero is meaningless, so there's no reason to enter it. Some bands on some scanners will only accept three decimal digits, but the scanner should round off your entry and still receive the intended frequency.
The RESET function will clear everything that you have programmed into the scanner and restore original factory settings. You can, however, restore the 150 pre-programmed frequencies after a RESET.
To RESET: - Power the scanner OFF. - Hold down the 2, 9, and PSE keys and power the scanner ON. - CLEAr appears on the display as the scanner resets. - Do not power the scanner OFF until CLEAr disappears from the display.
To restore the original 150 pre-programmed frequencies: - Turn the scanner power OFF. - Hold down the 3 and ENT/PGM keys and power the scanner ON.
