Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.
Does the screen go blank after the computer has been sitting unused for a while or is it immediately blank and does not show a picture. If it goes blank after a while, look in your power settings under control panel on your computer and set the monitor cut off to NEVER, also check your screen saver settings. If it does not show a picture at all check the user manual of your TV to see the supported computer resolutions and then check under display settings on your computer to see if the resolution that you are using is compatible. Hope this helps.
If this is a new set, return it for an exchange. This one sounds like an LCD set which uses a "back light". This back light is not working. This is a warranty repair or exchange.

This sounds like a power supply problem in this DLP TV set. Best thing you can do is to call the manufacturer in the owners manual, or go back to where you purchaced the TV set and see where they send the Akia TV sets to be serviced. good Luck
