Verify connectivity with your xbox by checking the UI of the 2wire. go to http://home or http://gateway.2wire.net, & click to the local network icon at the top of the page. You should see the Xbox showing up with its IP, then click on view device details. You can also verify by the MAC address, as all Xboxes start with “00:50:F2”. You can also verify connectivity by pinging the Xbox from the HomePortal. Browse to the HomePortal’s Management page at http://192.168.1.254/management (http://172.16.0.1/management on older HomePortal). On this page, click the “Network Tests” link under “Troubleshooting”. Type the Xbox IP address in the “Host:” field, change “Test:” to 5, and click “Start”. The ping tests the connection to the Xbox five times and returns five successful replies from the IP address.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

try resetting your modem, not the router. Unplug it, wait a bit and plug it back in. the modem needs to see the routers ip address so it allows connectivity. Right now the modem has your computers ip address and doesn't see the router, until you reset it. try it, it should work.

I cannot connect to xbox live DNS

DNS server not found is easy to fix, I have helped many people with this problem. Contact the people you get your internet from. tell them you need to register your xbox. That should solve your DNS problem. and for more info contact http://tinyurl.com/m7ghqz

xbox configures the connection automatically as long as it is able to detect an internet connection(either wired or wireless). For wirless connections though, make sure xbox is using the correct security key or wep key for the wireless connection.

make sure that internet connection working fine first..if it is connect you xbox via wired or wireless(if wireless, make sure that you connect to your own wireless network and enter the wireless security if there is)...check if you can get an ip address, better set to obtain the ip address and dns of your xbox, if all set and still unable to access internet, access the linksys router setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address bar of your internet explorer, when pop-up for username and password type admin under password, leave it empty for the username. Click administration tab and disabled UPnP. Check if your X-BOX working fine. Hope this help you.

Xbox live test fails and so does update

you need to open the port that the update is trying to go through. the easiest way is to turn your firewall off, but this opens up your security. another way is to forward the correct port through port forwarding on your router. findout which port xbox live uses and put in the information to the router

XBOX Live problems with Belkin N1 router

I suggest setting this up with a WPA encryption rather than WEP encryption. This should get ya setup without a problem. Also, I've noticed live to be a bit buggy since Christmas. If you continue to have troubles after trying this call 800-4my-xbox. The recording will tell you if they are having network issues.

I bet this helps!

D-link DI-624 wireless router connectivity problems (DNS suffix)

Might I suggest that you reset the router to its default configuration by pressing and holding the reset button until it reboots. This way you will be dealing with the default configuration. Then try to use it. Remember the default login ID is admin and the password is Password or admin. Lets hope this helps
