Panny AE 700 Shut down

My Panasonic AE700U would not turn on this AM. I was out of town and my daughter was watching movies but did not say that she experienced any problems with the projector. I utned the main power switch off and came back after about 15 minutes. At this time the unit powered up fine. The picture was bright and clear for about 15 minutes and then the projector started to power down to stand by mode (without the stand by message), I could hear the iris clicking. The unit powered back up and then down again before finally shutting off. No warning lights came on. I checked the air filter and its clean. I was able to power up the unit after shutting the main power switch off and I had waited about 15 minutes. The projector ran for 5 minutes and shut down. I cant get the projector to start up again. I replaced the bulb last year and also replaced the air filter at that time. No indication of bulb failure. Any ideas??? Thank you.

I have the same issue with my AE700. Turn main power off for a while and the projector comes on for about 10 - 15 mins. I checked bulb life and it was only at 200 hrs. After 10 - 15 minutes, the screen goes blank, shutter closes and fan keeps running. Comes back on a few more times, this time for only about 1 - 2 minutes then goes blank again.

Mine turns on normally, then after a couple of minutes it powers down by turning off and cooling down. Once cooled it turns back on and repeats until I unplug it from the wall.

This problem first appeared in Jan 2008 and I have not tried to fix it or use it since.

Was watching movie and then no picture. Unit just shut down. I took unit down next day plugged it in and it ran for about 5 minutes and picture was great but unit shut down. Do not know if it is worth fixing have had it 3 years. They no longer make the 700 it may be too expensive to fix.

Blue Haze on the left and various other places on screen

it's the polarizing filter on one of the lcds. they tend to fry due to excessive heat. clean the dust out of the projector so it can cool down properly. but you will need to replace that filter. it is fairly easy, but remember which plugs go where. however, many companies won't sell parts for or replace components of the optical engine or the prism assembly. if they don't, it's going to cost a bit. check the panasonic website for the closest authorized service center.

PT-AE700U No Power

Hi ErnieN008

If there is no LED's flashing or even lighting up for that matter , then it could just be the fuse on the Poersupplyboard that has gone.

You can replace this fuse by opening up the top cover and looking for the board with the AC inlet on it.

If the problem however still exists , you will have to replace the powersupply.
