Id def try a bigger hard drive, chances are your processor, ram and hard drive arent good enough for xp, or if possible try to instal win 98 just to rule out other hardware problens, i really think that the pc is not going to handle xp very well to be honest.

I need the memory stick number to my dcr-trv18 what memory stick do i need

Your camcorder uses the original Sony memory sticks in the following capacities:
4Mb, 8Mb, 16Mb, 32Mb, 64Mb and 128Mb. All but the 128Mb have been discontinued. You can look online for the 128Mb memory stick from many vendors. You may find the other ones from E-bay.

My laptop Compaq Armada 1573D dosnot see the added memory that i have put in it is with in the spec ie 64meg

Are you sure that the new memory is fully seated? Did both side clips click tight into place against the memory chip? If this is does not solve the problem move on to step 2. Remove the original memory, keeping the new memory in place. Restart the computer. If there is nothing wrong with the memory, then i should recognise the new memory w/out any problem. If you can not boot due to "no memory present" or some similar error message then the memory chip is no good or unrecogisable by your laptop. If the chip is good and the computr starts w/no problem, then reinstall the original memory chip and restart the computer. If the problem persists the two memory chips are incompatible.

Here is what crucial.com says you can install in you compaq armada.

Compaq armada sb nc 1000 problem

Common with old compaq Laptops, when the HDD Fails generally it takes time to get into BIOS ( may be not ), Problem, stumps down to NO HDD , try to check the HDD Bay , check for the noice from HDD..you can do DOS boot (win98) from CD or Floppy and do FDISK...if it shows HDD , not much to worry it not ....finally you may need to replace the HDD.

Hope ti helps....Keep the hope :)

PCMICA/USB 2.0 not recognising usb devices

Hi,

if it works on the onboard usb.
Theres a chance that either the pcmcia slot drivers are incorrect, or the actual slot is faulty.
Try it in another slot, if you have 1.
update any onboard device drivers. if applicable. try the card in a different laptop. to eliminate the card. alternatively, try a different card in the slot. wifi card et,c.

How we can share RAM memory with graphics memory of our PC?

all you have to do is go into the bios, do this by pressing F2 on boot up, when in the bios you need to look for "shared memory" or "graphics memory"
once you have chosen the shared memory you want save settings and exit by pressing F10, the pc will restart and the shared memory will be increased

Compaq armada 1573d charger

According to the owners manual on the hp/compaq website, that notebook has an AC cord that plugs directly into the wall. Therefore the notebook must have an internal charger to convert the AC to a DC voltage to recharge the battery. Here is the link to see the manual:

Just want some more memory

Getting additional memory The below commands will help allow your computer to load programs into memory more efficiently allowing you to have more memory for MS-DOS programs / games.
Ensure you have the below three lines at the beginning of your config.sys file.
DEVICE=C:\Windows\HIMEM.SYS
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICE=C:\Windows\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
By placing the DOS=HIGH,UMB on the second line, this can, in some cases, save memory because it is loading DOS into upper memory before loading the memory manager. Additionally, the first and third lines cannot be loaded into high memory because these lines are the memory managers.
Load all your devices in your config.sys and autoexec.bat into high memory.

Compaq Armada 7400 Not Starting up

Hi, Try a couple of things. Boot without the battery first. (just using ac adapter) Have you made any recent changes, like adding memory, etc? If so, take out whatever you installed last. Good luck.
