Id def try a bigger hard drive, chances are your processor, ram and hard drive arent good enough for xp, or if possible try to instal win 98 just to rule out other hardware problens, i really think that the pc is not going to handle xp very well to be honest.

HP Compaq Presario SR2150NX PC New Memory not recognized

Remove the Old memory and see if the system reconizes it, if yes the old is not compatable together.
If no the new memory is not compatable with your system.

I am thinking of adding memory to my Compaq Presario SR111ONX. I was looking for a schematic of the motherboard or a diagram showing the memory slots and how to add it.

Two long slots with tabs on each end... the hold the memory sticks vertical to the board.

Use your finger to gently move the tab away from the memory stick on both sides... after each tab has been moved away pull up firmly on the memory stick...note the position of the slot(s) on the side of the stick that goes into the slot. insert the replacement memory stick in the slot lining it up carefully and push down ... the tabs should go back into place on their own if the memory is seated properly.

Video drivers download

when you boot the unit go into bios setup, write down the displayed service tag number in the BIOS, this will ID the motherboard on the dell support site, then enter the tag number onto the dell download site and choose your OS and from the drop down menue select Video.
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

the onboard video for the 240 is an ATI eithe VE, 16mb,32mb.
the onboard video for260 is 3 different ATI's or 2 different Intel.

Compaq Presario 5352 memory installation recognizing

be sure that the memory u got is compatible in your presario 5352. I tell you that adding 512mb to current 64 mb maybe a problem. you should remove the 64mb and replace it by 512mb and be sure that the new memory is compatible. want more information about your presario go to www.hp.com then search "compaq presario 5352"

Just want some more memory

Getting additional memory The below commands will help allow your computer to load programs into memory more efficiently allowing you to have more memory for MS-DOS programs / games.
Ensure you have the below three lines at the beginning of your config.sys file.
DEVICE=C:\Windows\HIMEM.SYS
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICE=C:\Windows\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
By placing the DOS=HIGH,UMB on the second line, this can, in some cases, save memory because it is loading DOS into upper memory before loading the memory manager. Additionally, the first and third lines cannot be loaded into high memory because these lines are the memory managers.
Load all your devices in your config.sys and autoexec.bat into high memory.
