Noise on playback

I made a couple of clips with  my camera and was unable to hear it clearly on playback.  I checked and the volume was set to "high".  When I downloaded the clip to my computer, I could hear the sound but there was a loud noisy humming sort of what a television set sounds like when there's inteference

My playback of clips is also very quiet (when played on the camera)... I think it might just be the camera. When I play the clips on the computer though the sound is perfect.

I can't hear clearly but the volume is in the maximum volume

if your camcorder uses cassete then please try your earlier recorded cassette. if the problem is with the newly recorded one then please use cleaner to clean the camcorder. possibly the audio recording and playback head might have some deposit on. it cleaning should help.
if you cant find cleaner dampen cotton cloth with very little alcohol and rub all the metal part except a round drum whic is video head and can be damaged.

Why cant i hear the noise when i playback what i recorded?

The FE-4000 lacks a loudspeaker. You can record sound on movie clips but you cannot hear it unless you play back after uploading the video to a host pc.

When I playback a video on my camera i cannot hear any noise.

It is normal that you can't hear any sound when playing a video on your camera because the camera that you're using doesn't have speakers

All C series cameras doesn't have any speaker

Hope this will help

I have a sony dsc-s500 digital camera I can't figure out how to play back video's. Does it actually have the feature to record?

DSC-S500 can record short movie clip with sound and you can playback it on camera and can transfer that movie clip to PC
Check below jog-dial mark to set camera to record movie clip.

Video

DSC-S500 has no built-in speaker for playback sound on itself.
If you transfer movie clip in PC and play it with media player, there you will have clear sound.

Microphone not working ?

I have seen situations in the past where a woman especially would not modulate her voice well enough to make good sound on her mic, other then that, make sure your mic volume is set fairly high. Also if the situation is not cleared by the previous two suggestions look for newer audio drivers for your system ( whatever that may be ), a.k.a. motherboard audio driver or sound card drivers depending on what hardware you have installed
