Question about Televison & Video
There may be a power supply or cooling fault for the lamp. This would have to be serviced by a service rep for your set.
I have no idea of the cost of the bulb for your set. But I can tell you that from what I see, if you use the set a lot of hours it will become very expensive to use. Because of the heat and cooling problems, the failure rate of the support circuitry for projection TV sets is higher than the normal sets.
I would suggest to service the set, put it up for sale, and get a Plasma or LCD type set. Over the long run LCD and Plasma sets are very maintenance free. Take an exended warranty with the set for insurance just in case something major goes on it. Over its lifetime it will still come out cheaper and more dependable than a projection set, and it will have much sharper pictures.
