    i have lg microwave working light,movement is ok but only problem in warming

    my kitchenaid KHMS155LSS always worked fine for 3 years .
    However early this morning I heard beeping and discovered the pad was going 1,2,3,4,5, 1,2,3,4,5, . If I hit cancel it would stop ,but then when I sat down it repeated the sequence . I unplugged it for 20 minutes and now it displays the time like this 8:30 d .
    Also it turns but does not heat up . What can I do to fix it myself ?
    In the meantime I will use the regular oven while waiting for advice . Thank you in advance .

Most likely it can be the controler board, power supply, or a safety switch. There are other problems that can contribute to failure.

The microwave is not heating the food.


When it did heat food before and you used the same settings now, the microwave must be defect.
But before you are sure, put a cup with water in the micro and try to heat that.
Dry food can't be heated in a microwave. There must be some moist in the food if you want to heat it in the microwave.

Investigate these three areas if your microwave won't heat but you hear a loud buzzing or humming noise:

A diode is an electronic component that readily passes current in one direction only and blocks the flow of current in the opposing direction. If your microwave's diode has become defective, your microwave will not heat and you will hear a buzzing noise. Test the diode to determine if this is the cause of your problem. Replace it if it is defective.

A capacitor is an electrical device which stores electricity. A defective capacitor may be why your microwave is not heating but you are hearing a buzzing or humming noise. The capacitor will have to be tested to determine if this is the cause of your problem. A defective capacitor will have to be replaced before your microwave will work again. Make sure you discharge the capacitor before you test it, though.

Sounds like the Magnetron has stopped working. The Magnetron is is a specially designed powerful magnet that generates the high frequency microwave energy used to heat food.

HI, when the Magnetron becomes unstable, the microwave will not heat anything. simply replace the Magnetron. This device creates the heating action and it is damaged and not functional at this time.

GE Spacemaker XL1800


have a GE xl1800 microwave that is not heating the food. The lights work, turntable turns etc. all but no heat. Help this microwave is only 1 years old.
