Re: Please, help me to program my garage remots so I can...
To program you need to locate the smart/learn button which is on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Hold down the button on your remote and then press and release the smart/learn button. Do this for each remote.
If you program your remote I'm sure your car unit will not work. Sounds like they are different technologies. One is billion code and the other is security +.

I bought a new keypad and 2 VISOR remote (30498). As to programming garage door opener, I did like here: programming garage door opener

The easiest way to program is to hold the button on the remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button. If it worked before there is no reason for it not to work now unless it totally failed.
The only way to program Homelink without a garage door opener remote is if you have a keypad that allows access to your garage. I tried EVERYTHING and then realized I had the keypad which is wireless; I simply unscrewed the battery operated keypad from its location and held it 1"-3" from the Homelink buttons in my car. I then punched in my code and held the enter button on the keypad at the same time as the Homelink button I wished to program. It worked flawlessly. Good Luck!!!!
CHECK THE FREQ. (FREQUENCY) IF YOUR NEW REMOTE IS NOT THE SAME FREQ. IT WILL NOT WORK - YOU WILL NEED TO GET ONE THAT HAS THE SAME FREQ.. - THEY ARE AVAILABLE FROM YOU LOCAL GARAGE DOOR DEALER.
HOPE THIS HELPS
NOTE: THE FREQ. IS ON THE BACK OF THE REMOTE AND NEAR THE PROGRAM BUTTON ON THE POWERHEAD - THEY CHANGED FREQ A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO.
The problem is in the receiver on the logic board. You will have to replace the logic board. You can get a replacement part at searspartsdirect.com. Thanks BB
I know what the problem is but never tried to resolve it. I have a 1998 XJ8 and went through the same problem. After numerous attempts to program the 4 channel built in opener I researched the problem and learned that the system in the car actually changes the code after every use. It's a security feature built in to the system. I simply started keeping my remote in the car.
There must be a way to disable the automatic randomizer so it retains the code from your remote opener everytime. Check with the dealer to see if it can be disabled and you will be in business. Please post the info if you get it.
