Question about Mitsubishi WS-65711 65" Rear Projection Television

Red arching lines

Recently red arching lines appeared on my tv when i turned it on. Any idea what the problem(s) can be and what i can do to fix this? There's a setting that allows me to adjust these lines to line up but as i adjust 1 line another line goes out of alignment.

I wont be able to provide a picture (no camera). How would i go about resetting Convergence? Sorry i dont know alot about tv's. Also been trying to align the red upon the blue and green but it's been an all day event and there's still alot of lines to be aligned.

Is this that you are adjusting called convergence? If so then if it's really bad you can try to reset convergence, if not then the red needs to be aligned up with green first then blue on green. Can you provide a picture of what it looks like?

Red picture tube needs screen voltage adjust. Open fornt or back of TV and look for a black square looking box with adjustment knobs. Look for red screen adj and slowly turn rt or lft until lines just disappear. If screen goes too bright tv will shut down, just turn back on again and retry

sounds like bad CRT, some of these sonys have had defective CRT issues, usually all will come and go sooner or later (all 3 bad), you can pull the speaker grill off(either 2 1/4" screws on bottom or 6 1/4" on back sides) and pull off the Crt box cover (2'X3' piece) and lightly tap the CRT's with tv on, if they flare or get colored streaks in pix they are bad, CALL SONY 800 # and complain, also could adjust G2 (Screen control for color) for short patch. Will need new crts.
