JCD2389GES The ice maker has stopped working. The ice tray was empty so I filled it with water. The water froze after a couple of hours as expected, but the ice cubes were not ejected. So I was thinking it must be the motor which turns the ice cube ejector, but I can't seem to find such a thing in the parts manual. Is there another possibility? What is the most likely problem?

SOURCE: JCD2389GES

I removed the entire unit again, looked at it, removed the front cover, and decided I wasn't going to take anything else apart. When I reinstalled it in the refrigerator, it started working again. Possibly the wire connectors just needed plugging in the clean them again.

Ice maker not working.

If your water tray was empty check the water supply to the fridge .
you shouldn't fill it manually.
\if the water supply is turned on, then the operating solenoid that allows water into the tray is faulty.
Whoever repaired your fridge should be called back immediately.

Icemaker not working

Its probably the water tray not filling. On the back of the freezer, there should be a hose that goes into the ice maker - remove the screw that holds the tubing in place, and gently pull out the hose. Let it sit for about an hour - chances are, you stopped using a lot of ice, and the water in the fill line to the ice maker froze. Once that's thawed, water should be able to flow again.

While you're behind the refrigerator, there may be an envelope with instructions for the ice maker - specifically, how to start the cycle. After the water line has thawed, you will want to start a cycle and verify the water is flowing. You should be able to hear it flowing.

Kenmore WR30X0318 Ice Maker Stopped Making Ice

The ice maker uses a internal thermostat that starts the cycle of dropping the ice and refilling with tap water. If your water control valve works filling the ice maker then the problem is the ice maker itself that will need replaced. Unfortuantly the ice maker you have has no rebuildable parts and will need to be replace with a=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly

Ice Maker Doesn't Work

Is there ice in the ice tray? If so the heater is not working to allow the scooper to push the ice out into the tray. If no ice in tray then the fill solenoid is not opening to allow water into the tray. Replace the solenoid.

Ice maker has ice motor doen't dump the ice

Your ice-maker may need to be "hard-reset". To do this, perform a manual-defrost by emptying out the freezer (and fridge) and shutting all power off to your unit for several hours (at least half a day unless you can be sure the temp in the freezer has fully reached ambient. Next, with freezer empty, restore power, make sure the "ice" setting is set to off, then set the forced power-freeze mode (you can refill the fridge, but leave the freezer empty for now. When the power-freeze completes (at least 2.5 hours) you can refill the freezer, set the "ice" mode to block/crushed (IE something other than off) and then hit the "black reset button" to restart the ice-maker. IF it still will not dump the cubes then the ice sensor/control board may have failed.

Water not going to ice maker

That happened to me once and while it was with an older fridge, it's possible it could be the same problem. In my case, the water inside the supply line actually froze. Tried using hot towels and such on the water supply line but in the end, I had to empty out the Fridge and defrost it for a day. Water for the ice maker worked again after that... and I had a clean fridge!
Hope this helps...

My icemaker is not working. Water not filling tray

Probably the valve that feeds water to the ice maker leaks and this water freezes up at the filling tube to the ice maker and the water doesn't go through, but if the filling tube is not frozen and the ice maker doesn't call for water the problem is in the ice maker inside board ,if so you should replace the ice maker.

No ice...different question

Are you able to see if you can push a Q-tip or something up the fill tube line to see if it's frozen up inside there. It happens on certain units. You may need to take the Ice Maker out (easy) to get to the fill tube.
