ok, what are you upgradeing with the mini pci card? your wireless?

there is not much you can upgrade with a mini pci card. What are you trying to upgrade with it?

a better upgrade would be memory, hard drive or cpu.

Can i upgrade my graphics card in my acer aspire z3101-u4062

Usually those little all in ones have onboard memory like a laptop and are ont really intended to be upgraded... however I concur with John B if the PC had a free PCI or PCI-E slot you could pop a video card in there. I did a quick google and it seems this model does not have expansion slots.

I also found this, someone just like you wanted to upgrade the video card, and also could not:

Error Message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted. Remove device and restart.

Hi,

I think you can try this steps and hope it will help you.
Try to reseat the Wireless Card in your machine.

You will need the following tools to complete the removal and replacement procedures:
-Magnetic screwdriver
-Phillips P0 screwdriver
-5.0-mm socket for system board screwlocks
-Flat-bladed screwdriver
-Tool kit-includes

Turn the machine upsidedown

Remove the battery.

Wireless Card Removal

1. Loosen the PM2.0×5.0 screw 1 that secures the Mini PCI
compartment cover to the computer.
2. Lift the rear edge of the Mini PCI compartment cover 2, and
then swing it forward.
3. Remove the Mini PCI compartment cover.

4. Disconnect the wireless antenna cables 1 from the Mini PCI
communications card.
5. Spread the two retaining tabs 2 that secure the Mini PCI
communications card to the communications compartment
socket. (The board rises up).
6. Remove the wireless communications card 3 by pulling the
board away from the socket at a 45-degree angle.

**Reverse the above procedure to install a Mini PCI
communications card.

If happens that it does not work, I think you can just reinstall OS just to make sure if its Hardware or Software problem.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.

My wireless connection is not working on my inspiron, what should i do?

Cheapest steps first, getting more progressively expensive as the list progresses:

1) Upgrade the BIOS for the system, available at support.dell.com
2) Upgrade the chipset drivers to the latest version, same website.
3) Upgrade the wireless card drivers to the latest version, same website.
4) Re-set the wireless antennas. Usually you can access the WLAN mini-PCI card at the bottom of the systems. It will have two small wires connected to it, one white and one black wire.
5) Re-seat the wireless card. It's like a large RAM SO-DIMM chip, snap-in and out.
6) Perform a system restore (hopefully it doesn't come to that)
7) Re-install windows

More expensive:
8) Replace the WLAN card.
9) Replace the system board.

Is ddr upgrade to 1 gig for gateway mdw 500s? Is there a way that I can install a nic/ wireless card to pick up signals?

we need model number of the laptop please mdw 500s i cannot find listed. If its the same as the nx 500s then ddr 333 is required (200 pin sodimm modules)
for wireless they installed
Intel® PRO/Wireless IEEE 802.11b/g network card, Mini-PCI Pentium® M models only)
-OR-
Broadcom IEEE 802.11b/g network card, Mini-PCI (Celeron™ M models only)
  • FN+F2 keyboard combination toggles wireless networking
  • Antenna: Uses factory-installed internal antenna assembly
  • Operating channels: 11 selectable channels
  • Security: 128 and 64 bit WEP encryption
  • Operating Frequency: 2.4 GHz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum
  • Maximum Data Rate:
    54 Mbps (IEEE802.11g)
    11 Mbps (IEEE802.11b)
I am not sure where you will find a mini PCi card to suit i would just use a slot in pcmcia card or usb adaptor

I want to upgrade some hardware on my aspire 6920g

There shouldn't be any issues in upgrading those features, I have personally swapped processors on OEM systems for juicier processors with no issues and swapping out for a bluray drive shouldn't give you any problems either (personally I will be doing the same thing) The screen I haven't seen available to the 6920 Ive seen it for the 8920 but thats 18.4 I believe so that wouldn't fit but if you know that there is one that was put into your model computer then I should definitely work on your computer. as far as the mini pci-e TV card we do have the blank spot BUT I do not believe this one is possible due to also needing the board to insert in the TV tuner location its possible it could work but I do not believe so.
