Ok, this is an easy job, and a quick tune up. First start up your saw, rev it some so it warms up. Next, make sure your saw idles, if not just turn up the idle a bit first before this. With your saw idling on the ground, turn the L screw about 1 turn either side of where it is, and listen to obtain the fastest and smoothest idle, that takes care of the L screw. Now the H screw must be adjusted while the the saw is at full throttle, turn the H screw and listen for maximum and smoothest engine speed. I sugest this be done with the chain and bar removed from the saw. After you adjust the L and H, then adjust idle to suit.

Adjust the throttle on my echo cs305 chainsaw

Toni,
Can you give me a little more information on your problem. Are you having a problem with the throttle linkage or is it a carburetor adjustment question?

How do i tell the differance betwen the high and low speed needles for a c1q zama carberator

LOW Speed is always nearest the engine...

High speed is always nearest the air filter...

PERIOD...

now there are some that only have one adjustment needle and it\'s an air bleed only (worthless crap)

or in Echo\'s case it\'s a single adjustment carb (still worthless)

Idle to high

Make sure the carburetor was re-installed correctly as any air leak between the carburetor and cylinder will cause high engine speeds but almost no power. It can also scuff the piston/ring(s) and cylinder due to very lean lubrication from the fuel. Hope this helps!

Engine dies upon acceleration after starting and idling

turn the high speed and low speed mixture screws right in[gently]then out 2.5 turns.start it up,screw the idle screw up till it will idle, then adjust low speed mixture screw in or out so you get the highest idle.keep lowering the idle so as you adjust the screw,it wont get it any higher in revs.so by now it should idle.next, open the throttle wide, and adjust the high speed screw until you get maximum revs..then,turn screw 1/4 turn out.that makes it slightly richer, cooling the plug with droplets of petrol.you dont want it lean.if it wont rev fully, check the fuel filter.they get dirty quite often

What are the adjustments for the high and low mixture screws on the carbureator? the carbureator is from an echo 500vl chainsaw.

Echo thinks your actual model number is CS-550EVL. Page 14 lists the starting points for carburetor adjustment here:
http://www.echo-usa.com/pdf/documentation/CS550evle_010186.pdf
Additional manuals for you saw can be found here:
EchoUSA
http://www.echo-usa.com/documentation.asp
More choices can be found by typing CS in the model: window then clicking “Search”.

Once initialized this is the best procedure I have found.
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. HTH

I would like to know how to adjust the carburator of McCulloch 3516 chainsaw 35cc/cm 46759-77

the carbuator has two 2 adjusting screws on it.one is high side and the other is low side.start by turnig them both in until they touch bottom.now turn them both out 1 1/2 turns.this should start and run saw.throttle saw up to full throttle and adjust high side in until you get the best RPM out of saw.do not adjust high side any less then 7/8 turn out from bottom.if you do you will burn saw up from to lean burn.once the high sie is set now adjust low side until the saw will idle by it's self.let me know if this helped you.......
