My head hurts from searching

The damn thing just wont turn on and i only have till next month, 5-1-08, untill my year warrenty expires help please?

as i've read you statement your tv need to check parts by parts, the one you mention upside trace vertical line, that part control on vertical ckt faulty parts nearly to faded filter capacitor you can directly replace all capacitor of vertical section. the one you adjust is that the playback transformer the upper portion is focus and the lower portion is screen voltage controlling screen voltage supply to crt g2 pin. if you turn this high that resulting hazing sound come from 2nd anode cup.

Tube going out? Picture goes on/off/on/off/on/off til I go nuts!


If it does this on all inputs (cable, and dvd player) then yes you have a bad tube. If however you have cable and have a cable box it could be the box causing your problem, same with satellite, if you have satellite it could be the box causing your problem. The cable/satalite thing is just kinda a long shot. You most likely have a bad tube, just trying to give you some hope! let me know!

My Tv just started doing the same problem


Sounds like the On/Off sitch is bad to me. Be Calm my friend these things happen in life. No point in becoming angry over it. The fact is it was probably the least expensive set on the shelf when you bought it. It came with a warrenty as do the other brands And, this sort of problem can happen to ANY brand of television. That's why you get a warrenty. Also, you could have bought an extended warrenty which would have cost you more than the repair job you need for your tv. Call 18002427158 press 1 be preparred to hold about 4 or 5 minutes and ask them for a service tech in your area. I would think that this should be repairable for about $35-$55 OR look in your yellow pages and take it to any TV reapair shop in your neighborhood. Don't worry, BE HAPPY!!!! Don't forget now, very soon, if you don't have cable or satelite you will need a new tv anyway. The nation is going Digital! WOO HOOO!!!! Have a great day! Symphonic tv's are ok. I have had a 27" here for 13 years now still plays great! Although, my 6 year old Symphonic just pooped the bed. But, that's ok cause I can fix it!

You can search the code with the tv off too. Just try each code and press power till the tv will go on. It's the same way like the remote companies sais to try till your tv goes off.

Remote codes


You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
    Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

I AM SORRY ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR TV... AS IT IS YOU BOUGHT YOURS AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME TIME THAT I BOUGHT MINE. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME THING YOU DID ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED IT. BUT THEN I THOUGHT IT WAS DUE TO SOMETHING MY NIECES HAD DONE TO THE TV. MY DAD TRIED TO FIX IT AND IT WORKED FOR A WHILE AND THEN ON CHRISTMAS EVE 2006 IT WENT COMPLETELY BISERK!!! NOW I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO GET THE CONTROL PANEL.

Cant change channels


Your in the video mode so you have to change the input. On the original remote, its the button left of the power button. A universal may not work for this. If you need the original remote, Its available at http://www.remotes.com Good Luck

Green Lines Horizontally


yeppers its a g2 control on the flyback thats gone or drifted out of alighnment or the flyback its self.Try turning the g2 control dowm till those lines fade. If they wont go away then you need someone to check the Picture tube or its componets driving the crt.
