Question about NetGear : WG111 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, RETAIL (DSNGWG111)
I have dsl, and my internet is not working but my sons is, i uninstalled the netgear router, i reinstalled it and now it is asking for a passphrase, i do not know what that is, when i apply network connections it dose not find the network.
On your computer, open any browser, type 192.168.1.1 or 188.8.131.52
on the login window, type admin for the username & password for the password. (assuming you haven't set the router to have a custom username/ password.)
click wireless settings under setup menu. under security options, select WEP, choose authentication type as automatic, encryption strength is 64-bit (or 128-bit)
select key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength) click apply. Please note down these values - You must later configure your wireless computers with the same setting.
you can also select WPA-PSK, as the passphrase, just choose that option on the security options, type in a word or group of printable characters in the passphrase box. it must be 8-63 characters in length, hit apply.
