Re: not enough disk space
It may have created a hidden system file.
Open explorer and then right click on each of the main folders on the left side. If you see a folder that is absolouty huge, then that would be a good place to start looking.
You will need to unhide hidden and system files as well.
This will depend on your OS so ..
At the top of the page select Organise
Select Folder & Search Options
In the Hidden & Search options, tick "Show hidden files and folders"

You can try and compress your file this will give you 15 to 20 percent more space. Also, download CCleaner and run it this will also help clean up disk space. And run disk cleaner and last run a defrag
If you have low memory (RAM) then install more RAM. If you have low memory (hard disk space) the delete unwanted data files and uninstall unwanted programs. ALSO Carry out HARD DISK MAINTENANCE Hard disk maintenance should be carried once a month to make your computer run efficiently. This removes redundant and temporary files, recovers disk space and speed up hard disk access. Disk Cleanup should be done first - Click My Computer - then right click on the C drive then click Properties, then click Disk Cleanup - let it examine the C drive then it will calculate the amount of disk space it will recover, tick all the boxes to recover the maximum disk space and then Click OK and then Yes to perform these actions. If you have a D drive then repeat these steps on this drive too. Next the C drive needs to be Defrag. This process converts fragmented files into continuous files and this speeds up disk access and makes the hard disk not work as hard. Click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter - click to highlight the C drive and click Analyse - then click Defragment. When this is completed repeat these steps for the D Drive if you have a D drive. Disk Cleanup and Defrag can take a long time to complete, especially if these tasks have not been for a long time.
If you have a lot of video podcasts in your iTunes they take a lot of space on your hard drive. delete the one you don't want and make sure the empty the trash can. Try a piece of software called "Disk Inventory X"
Disk Inventory X is a disk usage utility for Mac OS X 10.3 (and later). It shows the sizes of files and folders in a special graphical way called "treemaps".
If you've ever wondered where all your disk space has gone, Disk Inventory X will help you to answer this question.
sure..the back ups are compressed files, usually, and though it appears to be a small file, the external drive will allocate the space that it needs. Mac's won't put a file anywhere that there is not enough room. PC's will slice it and spread it around, of course.
I recommend you off load some of those backups to DVD's and keep them for a month or so.
Or get more disk space.
Hello. Thanks for choosing Fixya! Click on your start button and then on printers and faxes. Look and see what other printer drivers you already have installed. Delete any that you no longer need and THEN install your new disc. Regards, Joe
This is because your current install is using all the Hard Disk space - it will be the other partitian on display at this point to get the space back you will have to delete the partitian the format it.
WARNING: Deleting the partitian will make you lose ALL the data currently on the Hard Drive
