Sound takes 10 minutes to come on from my Pioneer Elite 94 av receiver

My Pioneer Elite 94 av receiver, after one month of use, will turn on but no sound will eminate for at least ten minutes. After that it works fine all day until the next morning when the whole business repeats itself. Some kind of safety circuit?

No luck so far. There is only one HDMI cable going to the Sony LCD and one from the Sat. receiver to the Pioneer receiver. And here's something strange. I can immediately get sound if I tune to a non-on -air statin and then swith back to the station of my choice. The problem with that is within a few minutes a hear a high pitched whine. Go figure. Did I purchase a lemon?

These systems tend to have excessive delays when switching audio types but since it only started happening after a month of working perfectly, then I would start checking into loose wires and just anything that smells burnt for one which might be causing an even longer delay. 10 minutes is a little too much.

Please let me know what you find when you check it, thanks

yeah the delay I was talking about from switching the signal types is definitely your problem and somehow it just got way worse. Since it is only a month or so old, it should still be under warranty. I would take it back and get a new one. This is a great receiver otherwise so I see no need to call it a lemon. Not every one made can be perfect always. Please let me know if you have any further questions and I would be glad to help you.

    Thank you for your time.

I supose this is not how its suposed to work, only thing I can think of is somekind of a hardware side problem, Im sure you still have warranty on it, if you can you should go and get it replaced.

If you need more assistance let me know, I'm here to help

You may have overloaded your amp. If you have a separate amp in line then this would not be the case but if you are using your receive as the amp then it could be. Look for a fuse on the unit. Usually a small black square marked with 15a.

Dear Sirs, I have a Pioneer AV Receiver model VSX-817 and is connected to Monitor Audio Speakers (Fronts: BR5, Center: BR-LCR, Rears: BR1), Sub: MS309 (Mordaunt Short). I have connected each front...

Did you remember to remove the shorting link on the MA BR5 speaker terminal ..When you biwire the speakers you should remember to loosen the speaker terminal nuts and remove the shorting link plate between the HF and the LF terminals or you will short the amplifiers two channels together through the link. And modern amplifiers will take a lot of abuse at low volumes but at high volumes the protection circuit will turn off the device.

Does it indicate a problem with the fan? (Page 67)

FAN STOP

blinks in the display, then the power automatically switches off.

• Something is obstructing the fan. Remove the obstruction and try switching the receiver back on. If the

fan is still not working, or you can't remove the object, unplug the receiver from the wall and call a Pioneer

authorized independent service company.

• The fan is malfunctioning. Unplug the receiver from the wall and call a Pioneer authorized independent

Check for dust balls in and around it. Disconenct power before exploring inside.
