Panasonic 35'' flat screen tv

Edge bows out can not red bottom line on espn and pitcher will start to fad
or darken, then stats to flick in and out several times then cuts off.
If you unplug tv and leave it off for a week, it will work ok for about half an
hour then starts doing same.

I maybe mistaken, and anyone of the servicemen who have had more expreince with this model maybe able to elaborate further, but..
It sounds an awful lot like the video controller circuit is over heating. There should be a fan near there that is either not running, or not running correctly to get the right amount of air flowing over it. Even if it is running full speed, it could have dust all over the fan blades and it is really doing nothing after that.
I seen this issue in a few Sony's but not in Panasonic.(yet)

Right half of screen black with thin blue line top to bottom about another line inch over another thin line starting blue then red getting thiner to bottom

This is a very common problem with this Panasonic set where half the right side is bad and the other half is good. This has been traced to a general plasma panel defect in the manufacturing precess. The panel lasts only about 1.5 years and they go bad. The only solution is to replace the plasma panel. The charges for the cost and labor will double the original prize of the TV set.Good luck.

PHILIPS MODEL # 46PP93 0217 40 INCH.

It may be the fluid in the CRT or the convergence chips are bad.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
