Panasonis SC HT70 Plays for about 1hour then comes up with F61 Fault code

This fault code means the speaker cables may have shorted, or the speakers are not the correct resistance (ohms) Are you using the speakers that came with the unit? If not, make sure the ohms rating of the speakers you are using are the same as the factory speakers. If they are the same, the unit may just be overheating, make sure it is in a well ventilated area, and dust-free.

Your Panasonic SA-VX uses a Switch Mode Power Supply ( SMPS ). Do not ever attempt to fix it yourself unless you are well versed in electronics. ou can damage the system seriously. Seek professional help.

Hi All, I have Panasonic SC - VK 540 music system. It has gone to the authorized service station several times for the above mentioned error. But unfortunately they have not bee able to fix the problem....

The fault seems to be a main board issue in which the relay is clicking but not activating.
SInce you are not aware of the work done earlier it must be seen if this was a reset issue. so power off and try to reset- refer you manual in thelast column for reset in case of errors...may be holding the menu/selecctor while switching on.
You can also see if there is any dry points in the main board,a loose connector or a connection . press and reset all connections

Keeps showing F61

Panasonic error code F61 is for an output /power problem. Most likely it will need the output ic replaced. But check that the fan(s) are running a bad or stopped fan will also cause F61. Replacing the IC is best left to a technician and Panasonic is the only supplier that I know has the part.

I have Panasonic SC-AK750 Mini System and of late it keeps showing F61 on the screen before it switches off. do you know what it is

The F61 indicates protect mode. This means that a problem was detected inside and the unit shuts down to prevent further damage. This is usually the output amp pac or the regulator IC. The amp is attached to the heat sink in the rear of hte unit and should be marked RSNxxx.

F 71 error

I work at an authorized Panasonic repair center and I think the error code you have may be an "F61" not an "F71".

I have never seen an "F71" so I looked it up in several Panasonic service manuals and could not find an "F71".

The "F61" error is an amp or power supply failure. If this is the error code you are getting, try these two things first.

1. Disconnect the speakers and then turn it on.
If the unit turns on without an error code, you have a bad speaker.
If not, try step 2.

2. Resetting the unit could help, but it is unlikely. Unplug it from the wall outlet for about an hour and then plug it back in. This will reset the microprocessor.

The "F61" error It is a common problem with many different Panasonic receivers.

Your best bet is to take it to an authorized Panasonic service center.

The repair on this type of failure can cost anywhere from $75 all the way up to and over $200, it just depends on the exact problem that is causing it.
If you have a shorted output amp IC it can be on the costly side because some of Panasonics amp IC's cost over $100 just for the part.

If you are a technician and need help troubleshooting it, please give me the model number of the unit and I can tell you of several different things to check.

If you are not a technician with good soldering skills and the proper equipment, there is really nothing else you can do to fix this unit.

You must decide if the cost to repair it is worth it, compared to the cost of a new unit.

If you decide to purchase another unit to replace this one, let me know what type of unit you are looking for and I can advice you on picking out something a little more reliable.

Panasonic makes great car stereos, some of the best. But the home stereo equipment they make is really not up to the same standard. I have been repairing them for over 17 years and I know them very well. For the same price range you can do much better with another brand.

I hope this helps you to either fix this, or to make a better informed decision o what to replace it with. If so, a good rating would really be appreciated.

Thanks, and have a great day,
Dave

Panasonic error code

Take the case off and clean out the fan, it worked for me, it was the protection circiut kicking in to prevent the amp from blowing.
