Canon Powershot S3 IS self timer problem

How do you put the self timer on, on this kind of camera. I've done it before, but i forget how to do it now. So far, i know that i need to go to the main menu, select the number of shots, and the time, then go on any kind of mode but AUTO, press the take picture button, then wait, for the specific amount of time for my picture. But when i try to take the picture, then wait for the self timer to start it never does.

Press the 'drive mode' button to the left of the shutter button on top of the camera until you see a clockface icon with a 2, 10 or C in the upper center of the LCD (2 second delay, 10 second delay, or custom setting from menu).

How do I use the self-timer on a Canon S2 IS PowerShot?

Press the self-timer button (marked with a one-handed clock) to cycle through the self-timer modes. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button.

Full details are in the "Using the Self-timer" section of the manual (page 59 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

I don't know how to use the self timer on my canon A75...I keep forgetting and it isn't obvious..besides that there isn't anything on the whole thing of how to use the self timer for pictures you want to...

Press the FUNC/SET button. Use up/down to select Drive Mode (the rectangle, third item from the top). Use left/right to select the desired delay and press FUNC/SET.

The full instructions are in the "Self-timer" section in the manual (page 45 in my copy).
