Question about Televison & Video
The power lite on my tv comes on and flashes green then goes red and then goes off and my tv just wont come on.
This could indicate a variety of problems, some of which might be relatively simple for a technician, others more difficult to diagnose and repair. Most all do require the expertise of a visit to a repair technician. A dead set symptom as you have is often caused by a short in the horizontal deflection circuit (shorted horiz. output transistor), or short in a section of the power supply.
If you have some basic tools/equipment, including digital or analog VOM, you could take the back off the set and do some checking. Find the horizontal output section, and check the above noted transistor, also looking for bad solder connections in its associated and nearby circuitry. Bad solder connections are a common defect in numerous sets, and also cause dead sets, and sometimes can cause a component failure.
It is obviously a plus if you can come up with a schematic.
Beyond this, take it to a qualified technician.
