It could be disable, try to use Fn+F7 to enable touchpad.
if that not working, your touchpad might be bad.
also try to use external mouse.

SOURCE: frozen touchpad
I followed the advice of pressing the FN and F7 keys at the same time. It didn't work when the program was fully loaded, but I rebooted and tried again during the rebooting and it worked. I had the frozen cursor on the Travel Mate (Acer) also.
