"FLASH" generally denotes a compact storage device called
Compact Flash Card. I have an old digital camera that takes compact flash cards.

Newer Toshiba Laptops and Towers have multi card readers installed, my laptop has a SD card reader under my PCMCIA card slot. I also had a (Made for Toshiba) compact flash adapter. That device was nice because it wasn't "Card Bus" it used 8-16 bit technology making it easy to transfer data from a laptop running windows 3.1 to a laptop running Vista

My Toshiba laptop all of a sudden is asking for a BIOS password. I never enable that feature and all the backdoor passwords does not work. I did everything short of flashing the BIOS. I was wondering if...

woops - sounds like someone put a mischievous password in there - sadly to remove a password from a toshiba requires a special 'dongle' to be placed in the serial port - even reflashing may not remove it.Most toshiba service centres will remove this for you on providing proof of ownership - otherwise do a quick search on ebay for the dongle..

cheers

In my Toshiba laptop there is a problem with backlight. Could you fix it ?

Yes it can be fixed with a new backlight if that's the problem. Start the computer and see if with a flash light you can see the windows xp starting up image or the desktop when it finishes starting. If so you need a backlight which looks like a small florescent light bulb. If not you could need a new LCD or video card or motherboard. You can test the LCD by hooking the pc up to an external monitor. If you can see the pc info then your video card is ok and your motherboard is ok. You need a new LCD.
Let me know if you need anymore help.

The wireless in my toshiba satellite u205-s5034 just stopped working on day and i cant figure out how to fix it

Pacey2169: First think I need to ask is, is the wires hard wired or are you using a card? If you are using a card, pull out the card and take flash light and look in the slot to see if there is loose paper or any substance blocking the connection. If there is, use a plastic probe and try to get it out. use canned air if possible. If wireless is hard wired go into setting and check what your setup is. Also try to reinstall drivers if possible.

Dell Precision Workstation 670

The 3 beeps is an indicator of, most likely, a memory fault. This could be caused by incorrect memory configuration (unsupported RAM type or speed), not fully seated RAM, or the RAM itself has been damaged in some way. Best advice I can give to you is to open your case and verify that all Memory Modules are fully seated and locked into position. If they are, next step would be to remove all but 1 chip, and try turning it on. If it turns on, then one that you removed is the culprit, if not, that particular module may be the culprit and change it for another. If, after all memory modules tried has not allowed the computer to start, I would recommend taking it to a service center to be checked, as they would be able to verify the MB has not gone bad with using a module they know to be good.

Hope this helps!
