Inter net does not work on laptop

on my laptop my internet starts up but then says it has to close due to an error but every time i restart it still doesn't work

You will have to uninstall ( Reset ) Internet Explorer and Reinstall.

To do so :

XP User

1. Open Control panel in Classic View
2. Open Add/Remove programs
3. Click on Windows components on left tab
4. from the list - Uncheck Internet Explorer
5. Click ok and restart the PC
6. Open Control panel and Add/remove programs
7. click on winows components
8. Put a Check on Internet Explorer and click ok and restart the PC

You can then download the latest Internet Explorer from Microsoft Website

Vista User

1. Open Control panel
2. Open Programs and Features
3. From the list chick on Internet Explorer Self Tool
4. Click Change button on top tab
5. Continue with the instructions on screen

OR you can choose Repair option on Tab to Repair any broken coding in Internet Explorer

My laptops inter net is not werking.

First of all I would suggest you that contact with your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) If they say: everything is fine! then perform these tips to fix your issue:-
- Update device drivers.
- Check your Preferred DNS address.
- Disable Firewall.
- If you have Free-trial antivirus then uninstall it.
- Uninstall p2p software's (uTorrent, BiTorrent, Team Viewer.)
- Optimize internet setting's (must use reliable program PC Fresher for best result.)
- Install latest Windows updates.
- Restart PC.

My laptop running slow and net browsing very slow my configeration windows7 original ,320 gb HD,3GB memorry

There are several reason for the computer to be running slow for the start please try restarting the computer to safe mode with networking (Steps given below) and check if your browsing speed is better. If your internet browsing speed not better in safe mode with networking then you need to contact your ISP to complain about slow speed.

If it is working fine in safe mode, then some of the software (example: Antivirus / Internet Security / Firewall) is slowing down your computer. Please try removing it. Also try reducing the color scheme, use a non aero theme and see if your comptuer is working fine. If so your processor is not able to take the load of windows 7 visual effects aswell as other programs running in the background at the same time

Hi i have just got a new Pavilion DV7 only a few weeks old on boot/start up it starts then goes off several times before it starts to load windows the fan starts and the lights come on then goes off...

Run CHKDSK/F to check for errors. There may be an error on the hard drive.
Closing the lid when closing down, puts it in sleep mode and it will restart much easier but the error should be removed.

Follow this steps to resolve the Issue with the Internet explorer 8.

Disable Protected Mode for the "Trusted Sites" zone


  1. Click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image vistastartbutton.jpg, type Internet Options in the Start Search box, and then click Internet Options in the Programs list.
  2. Click the Security tab, and then click Trusted Sites in the Select a zone to view or change security settings area.
  3. Click to clear the Enabled Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer) check box, and then click OK.
  4. Restart Internet Explorer.

follow this step:
XP :- start/ run/ incpl.cpl/ advanced/ reset/close/
Vista /WIN 7:- start / startsearch/ incpl.cpl/ advance/reset/close
if internet explorer is not working then try if firefox is working or not

I cannot download the new windows updates-I get an error message 646 and cannot find out what that means

Try the following steps to install the update successfully.
Stop the services pertaining to Windows Update.
1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
2. If you receive a notification from User Account Control simply click Continue.
3. At the command prompt, type the following commands and then press ENTER after each command.
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
4. Please do not close the Command Prompt window.

Rename folders pertaining to Windows Update
At the command prompt, type the following commands and then press Enter after each command:
ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old
ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

Start services pertaining to Windows Update.
net start wuauserv
net start bits
net start cryptsvc
Close the Command Prompt window.

Download the standalone package file of the update “KB967043”
and install it.
Visit the following link to download the update:

Restart the computer once the update is installed.

Laptop networking problems

if you have with your unit please againg connect to the internet if same problem occur...



please follow these step.,

check your internet connection, your cable wire if still working...crimp again the wires,if still not working. check if you have and intenet service provider of service connectivity ok. call your ISP. next check if modem is working. observe it there is a LED correspond to the words which ios the connectivity. lastly your IP configuration check it if you have aasigned a Ip addrss manualy or automaticaly.
