How do I unblock my spam?

I am trying to get emails from some people but apparently it is going to my spam.  I use a mac and the entourage program.  It is not in my junk?  Does Yahoo just block some companies?  How do I get to it to unblock it?

Yahoo mail spam protection...

Spam Filter SpamGuard is ON [Turn SpamGuard OFF - What's this?]
For messages SpamGuard identifies as Spam:
Immediately delete these messages upon receipt. (Note: If you choose this option, you will not be able to review the messages before they are deleted.)
Save these messages in the Bulk Folder for 1 week 2 weeks 1 month
Mark Spam + Not Spam When I mark a message as Spam, in addition to deleting the message:
Add the sender's email address to my blocked addresses list
When I mark a message in the Bulk folder as Not Spam:
Move the message to my Inbox
Image Blocking Don't block any images
Block images in messages that SpamGuard thinks are spam
Block all images until I've had a chance to look it over

this is it.

You need to install a spam blocker.

If you are using a web mail, like yahoo, unfortunately there is no other way to block spam then using yahoo own filter. Only thing you can do in this case ids going to yahoo mail settings and putting a more strict spam filter.
If you use a mail program like for example Mac own entourage or Eudora, you can set spam filters to a higher level. For eample click here to check how to set up Spam Filters in Microsoft Entourage X for Mac.
If you still are getting to many mails (unless you use web mail), you can install an additional anti spam antivirus, like Symantec and mccafee

Sorry , I thought your problem was the opposite.
In your case do the same I descripted above, only instead of strenghten the filter release them. If you have mcafee or Norton check also their anti spam settings. Again start from enturage and yahoo filters, here is info for Entourage: Spam Filters in Microsoft Entourage X for Mac.

How do I rebuild the outlook 2011 for mac email database?

Hi Scott
I am a Mac User also.
Ran my own Mac repair business for 18 years...
I remember this particular problem with Entourage/Outlook for Mac
I stopped using Outlook & Office years ago because it goes corrupt when too many emails are stored in the email data file. About the 1gb file size. A well known problem. I use Apple Mail these days. Note..It will Import emails from Entourage.
All this data is kept in the Microsoft User Data folder inside Documents Folder... if my memory is correct.
Make a backup copy of this folder if you can... before fiddling.
I used a Microsoft Utility Program called "Microsoft Database Utility" to fix and clean up the Email data file. Then Entourage opened up the email again and I got rid of excessive emails containing photos.
I don't even have MS Office installed on this Mac any more but I have located "Microsoft Database Utility" program which is about 2.3mb in size. It's probably inside your MS Office / Office folder already. Use Apple Spotlight to search or... a free program called EasyFind works great.
Open the program and point it to the Microsoft User Data folder where Entourage email data file is located. To locate the actual email data file...Use "Cmd I" to find size of suspect file. The email data file is a Fairly big one.
I am using a 2007 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9 Maverics with the free "Pages" for reading Word Doc's & "Numbers" for Excel SS and it all works seamlessly. Dont have a need or want to pay for MS Office anymore as it never got many updates anyhow.

Hope this Fixes your Problem
Cheers
Trevor

On Side Subject.... Depending on age of your Mac...You can get Maverics OSX10.9 for free. Download the flu .DMG file. Use CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner from Bombich Software) to do a full Clone Backup of your current Mac HD to another external hard drive before installing new clean OSX 10.9 system then you get asked to Migrate your old system data back and you end up with a new Mac and all your data in place. Get free "MacTracker" to get your specific Mac Specs & what max OS it will go up to.

Ibook g4 i cannot get my password to work for mac mail

If the password is only an issue in the application "Mail", there is nothing wrong with your mac. Whatever application you use for your mail program (Mac Mail, Entourage), it has to be configured to send/receive your email. Depending on who you have your email account with, I suggest going to your webmail first. If you are able to log into your webmaill without a problem, you may need to reconfigure your Mail account. Your webmail password will be the same as your Mail password to retrieve your email.

As of today. I'll emails with attachment I'm getting from office emails are coming in as windat files. Do you know what's going on?

Hi,

Let me guess, the emails are coming from a Windows PC not a Mac. There's no problem with your Entourage. The problem is the Windows PC sending emails to you.

Based on my research, This issue usually happens when a Windows PC sending emails with attachment to a Mac is running Windows Vista and using Goggle Chrome as their default browser.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Entourage Error 3259

This may be due to the means of authentication being used -- by the STMP server you are sending to and/or the authentication options selected in your Entourage setup. Mail servers commonly establish restrictions based on authentication to restrict who can send mail through them as a means of preventing spam.

Cable companies for example, and possibly your campus network, often restrict the sending of Mail to those computers that have a local connection to their network based on the IP address they are using -- i.e. where you plugged in or which wireless adapter you are connected to. Alternatively, many others require your mail client to present your user name and password to authenticate... or possibly to authenticate only in those cases when you are not connected locally.

So... to get an iron clad answer, you need to find out from the Mail server administrators what type of authentication is required. This information is often listed on "help" web pages describing how to set up your mail client... or call them if you can. Alternatively, check your Entourage setup to see how it is contacting the server for outgoing mail. Try changing the authentication method to use Password authentication if it is not already. Ultimately, the mail administrator for your Mail server is likely your best help resource.

Hope this helps.

MS Entourage is very slow - the spinning wheel of death

Michael, if you have the option can you use IMAP instead of POP3 for your email server settings? If your email service provides IMAP you might try it as it may appear to work faster than POP3.
